says the domain name will belong to you aswell, obviously have to pay after 2 years

This deal was posted up a couple of months ago, but it's certainly worth a repost. I've used it to set up one site and found it very useful to get some presence. I've also started getting customers saying they'd seen us on the web, so the few hours I've put in have been worthwhile.

Some other suggested pages to help:
steegle.com/web…ide for Search Engine Optimisation for google searches.
google.com/app…tml for setting up email and calendar for your business with the right email address linked to your website address.
google.com/web…ls/ to help 'register' your site on google's searches.
google.com/ana…cs/ to see how you're progressing

I strongly recommend reading the first link before you start setting up your site!

Nice one, thanks for that info.

also you dont have to use their googlepages hosting
you can move to any other, you have control of dns

Tried to make a site, but it keeps timing out. No idea if I have the domain or not now.

great find

Would be good if they allowed FTP even in the most basic form. Unfortunately you can't upload pages, not much good if you want to push your business, apart from having a basic Electronic Biz card...

It's ok for business startups on a tight budget, pretty limited though really.

Mine timed out aswell but it registered it.

If you go to nic.uk/oth…is/ put in the domain name you registered and it will say if its in your name.

If it is go to sites.google.com and login with the google account details you set up, you can change and add pages to the website here.

You should have been sent an email, I got mine in a couple of minutes, with a username and password, go to gbbo.myportalexpress.com. to change the settings on your domain.

can u cancel after 2 years? and how much would it probably be after 2 years?

Not a huge fan of google website designs... I think it is very important to represent your business with a good quality website. I personally would advice people to get them made proffessionally and when people visit your website there is a far greater chance they will stay on it.

This was posted before...
And you do not need to stay with the google webhost u can get your own host. I use Hostcell for my sites its free and u can add your own domain
