I do not understand why anybody would need those!! The scoop is way too big, you need a third of that and you don't need the ball to pour a tiny bit in washing machine. I think these are given for people to use way too much detergent and therefore buy it more often. I'm boycotting them.

The Persil scoop quickly and easily measures 110ml of Persil’s powdered detergents, which is the perfect amount for washing a standard load of laundry. If your clothes are heavily soiled, you can also use the scoop to measure additional detergent – recommended at an extra 100ml if you’re using your washing machine’s pre-wash setting, or 210ml if your clothing requires a more intense clean. It’s best not to add more than two full scoops of powdered detergent to a wash, as this could leave a soapy residue on your clothes, or block your machine’s filters. The ball can go in the washing machine drum as is my personal choice. oO

That's one of the most ludicrous things I have ever read! I want even spread of my laundry detergent & not just one garment to absorb it all.

You have NO idea of what people need or want! Unless you took a course or degree or some anonymous thing!!! I use liquid detergents and prefer to put it IN a ball IN my washing machine.

I used to do that but have found that my clothes smell even more amazing when I place my detergent / conditioners into a ball INTO my washing machine drum! You clearly have some unresolved issues in your life & you are using this forum as an outlet! (_;)

Who knew such strong feelings came with detergent dosing devices.
I remember the good ole days when these were free in a box of soap.
Jeez, it's a free measuring jug, you don't have to use it for Persil!

We used to use standard powders...used to get the really large boxes of powders from Makro.

Now we use the balls that come with liquid detergent in the drum for around the past year and a half. Over the past month (drainage is plumbed through waste pipe of kitchen sink) there has been a horrible sulphur smell wafting through the sink plug hole...after google researching it was of no surprise that it is a common problem with using liquid detergent in the drum, particularly with low 30-40 degree wash cycles.

Only 2 days ago did I do a couple of doses of recommended soda crystals in the drum on the highest temperature wash cycle (90C) our machine allows to help remove bacteria and grease residue that builds up from the liquid detergent and low temperature washing.

Never ever did a recommended once monthly maintenance high temperature wash on our old washing machine which we used for 12 years and still was going strong when given to a friend, and only ever used wash powder in that....and not once had any problems with smell, and plumbed into exactly the same sink. Liquid detergents leave residue and subsequently require more maintenance.

Seems to be alot of people with/on soap boxes here! Chur chur.
Even now someone is urgently awaiting one of these to store next to their Amazon Dash tag. Who is this person and how can I exploit their willingness to waste money?
