No problems... the weekend one was apparently for only those that received an email. This one seems to be for all..... Now all we need is PAYPAL to waive their fees for the two days !! X)

Hiya, free listing was 21st and 22nd (weekend) Im sure of this as i had an email.

Im not sure but i think 24th and 26th are 5p listing days, not free listing days. May be wrong tho, hope I am as i want to sell a few things!

They dont mind letting you have a "free listing" as its on the "final price" and paypal fees they really make their money, thats why they insist sellers offer paypal as a payment option.

Can anyone tell me how much paypal usually charges? I might have a few items to get rid of if it's worth it!

Expect Final Value & Paypal Fess to come in around 14-15% of sale. I think that now includes postage & packing as well though happy to stand corrected on that

My free listing email says 23rd & 24th August. Ebay final value fees 10% with maximum £40. Paypal fees 3.4%

Final value fees depends on the category you are listing in - 10% is the max , I know mobile phones are much less than this and possibly more like 5% if I remember rightly.

From what i understand these free listings days are being staggered so different days for different users.

Someone mentioned Paypal fees, they are indeed 3.4% +20p unless you sign up for a Micropayments accounts and they are a little less, that's only worthwhile for listing itmes that are likely to fetch under 10 pounds including postage.

You can have more than one Paypal account so you could have a "normal" account and a Micropayment account and change the info on the listing page and use one when listing a low value item and one for payments over a tenner.

e.g - sold £4.95 - ebay fvf .49p
paypal fee on £8.45 .........45p - (i think).

if your stuff is just there - get rid of it - not making any money sitting there

people may knock ebay but its the best place to sell - irrespective of what they charge

dont know why people vote cold as i didnt know about this so thanks op

oh thanx i thort i missed the fee listing on da wkend, even tho i did list an item just to see if id get charged or not n guess what i never! i listed it for 3.99 got charged zero! n i didnt receive an "invite" too but it was too late to list the rest of the items but ive got a second chance now lol thanx

Thanks

This appears to be user specific and not for everyone.
Cannot find any mention of it on ebay and it appears this is by invite only...

I didn't get the invite for the weekend or this one either....something I said?

Can someone post url link so we can see if it's for real

no luck either , yet i have spent hrs @ w/e selling while other free listing on ,
tryed today but charging !

good to know thanks

Yeah its not for everyone, it varies on the date specified on the email you received, mine was 22nd and 23rd

My mates was 21st and 22nd

Anyone care to share the link?

Just got an invite from ebay for free listing on the 25th and 26th August - looks like it is account specific and therefore may not be open to all and for all dates...

MIsleading - not open to all users...only invited

"Only sellers who receive an email from eBay inviting them to participate in this promotion (24-25 August 2010) are eligible. The email invite is non-transferable."

hers the deal t&c's

Therefore deal should state this in the title as misleading
