Free Energy Saving Monitor with today's Sunday People for everyone + free Standby Saver for British Gas Customers

White (I think, as seen in the paper) usually costs £34.99 & £2.95 postage). There is a free Standby Saver extension (6 plug) for British Gas customers, both pics in post 8).

The monitor is for anyone, but only British Gas Customers can receive the Standby Saver.

Obviously it will be a form to fill in, but they say that they'll pay the postage. Probably worth buying the paper to get the monitor even if the paper goes straight in the recycling bin:)

PS. Don't use "Go To Deal" as it is in the paper only

I think it goes next to the meter, and a small grip fixes to the in wire to it. That's all I know, except it runs on batteries. Usually cost around £20 - £40.

Moved to Freebies.

I got one of these from a Daily Mail promo. Set it up, but cannt get it to work. With this one I ha to wrap the sensor around the red wire coming into the meter. I hink it acts same as a "clamp" meter, only it does power instead of just current.

sounds good

Am I reading this post right, is the offer only for customers of British Gas! If so not a good deal for me, I'm with EDF Energy.

Seriously how much clearer can it be?!!

This is a great deal, I was about to post it myself, heat added.

Everyone gets the energy monitor, British Gas customers get the plug sockets too.

I've been waiting for these to drop in price, so this will do nicely!

How much is the paper?

I'll have to pop down to the newsagents......

Thanks for posting, will have to nip out and get the rag. Cracking deal if this is for free!

I went to asda and picked up a copy. Please note it says one per household. Paper cost 90p

Thanks to the person who started this thread:thumbsup:

Note that people over 70 or those on benefits get priority over others.

Not sure how many they will have?

Still, worth a punt, I'll send mine off, thanks op.

Don't recall seeing the notes on the pictures when I posted my comment!

you have to chase them

I had a similar issue and only when I mentioned misleading advertiising (see ASA) and trading standards did my stock suddenly hit the depot and onto myself

with the mail you had to pay a cheque for postage if I remember if they cashed that and you have nothing then seriously contact them!

You can definitely try for the energy saving monitor as that is open to everyone.
As far as being a British Gas customer to get the standby saver bit goes - it doesn't mention anything about having to be a British Gas "Electric" customer, you just tick a box to confirm you are a BG customer, although you do also have to enter your BG reference number.

shame i missed this, was looking for one!

Anyone received theirs yet?

Mike

Nope.

nope.

Nor me, grr!

Four weeks now and nobody has got anything:?

Is there any way to contact them?

Sent an email to sunday people so will let everyone know as to the reply i get from them regarding not received the energy monitor.

not heard a thing either

They have still not replied to my email. does anyone know a phone number to contact???

I've not received anything either... my parents, brother and another friend all bought the paper and filled in the form, and none of them have received anything.

I've been emailing Customer Services for 2 weeks and have not received any response. Eventually I emailed the "Head of Digital" at Mirror Group Newspapers yesterday, and received a reply from his PA with a phone number for Customer Services - 0207 293 2220

I'll be calling in the morning. Hope some of us get somewhere with this. It's looking like it's been an absolute con on the part of The People and Mirror Group Newspapers. Threats of involving the Advertising Standards Authority need to be made me thinks.

Mark

Update: Phoned Mirror Group Newspapers customer service team and told this offer was the responsibility of British Gas. I phoned the number given for British Gas and they denied any knowledge of the offer being their responsibility. They 'put their name' to it, but as far as they were concerned, they were not responsible for the offer.

So... back to MGN Customer Services. Explained the situation, again, and put on hold whilst they went through to Marketing. OK, the person I needed to speak to had now 'gone home' but they took my details to phone me on Monday. I now have the name of someone, so will see what happens on Monday morning.
