Free entry for stranded foreign visitors to all National Trust places.

In an effort to ease the frustrations of tourists currently stranded in the UK, were offering any foreign visitor who turns up to one of our places with their passport and delayed plane ticket free entry.

I can't seem to edit the Direct Link, so here it is:
nationaltrust.org.uk/mai…htm

Foreign travellers stranded in the UK because of the volcanic ash cloud are to be given free entry to our places while they are in the country.

We've made this move as a thank you to those countries currently hosting an estimated 150,000 Britons stranded abroad.

Travellers simply have to arrive at a National Trust property with a flight ticket from the affected period together with their passport.

We will run the offer as long as people remain stuck in the UK, giving travellers the chance to visit some of the other places they may not have had time to enjoy.

Fiona Reynolds, Director General of the National Trust, said: British travellers stranded overseas have been shown tremendous hospitality by their hosts.

This offer is a way of reciprocating that kindness and saying thank you on behalf of the country.

Graham Deans, Assistant Director for Operations in the Trusts Thames & Solent Region, said: Its the perfect time to visit Osterley and its just down the road from Heathrow from anyone stranded or staying near there.

Its a great spot to get away from everything, so we hope some visitors will be able to take up the chance to visit whilst theyre here.

Silly question, Why would a foreign visitor be visiting hot UK deals????

Although thinking about it when I am on holiday in Spain later this year I may have a look for RepartosCalientesDelEspañol.com

Its a good question, but I thought that maybe a HUKD reader might know someone who's visiting (or something like that). It doesn't hurt to spread the word.

That seems,to me, a fair enough reason to post it ; although it may be better posted in misc.
I have asked for it to be un-expired.

Foriegners getting benefits again - how novel !

What a lovely idea, anything that encourages people to enjoy NT places is good, plus they will probably make money from teas and souveniers.
