The actual link takes you to the notification on South Lakes zoo facebook page; however you won't see it say 'Free Entry' as this is only available via the 'Sponsored Link'. Odd that it doesn't show, but we have a screenshot in the OP that you can use and if you see the comments and replies between South Lakes and facebook users you can see them discussing and confirming it is free.
If you click through or buy, retailers may pay hotukdeals some money, but this never affects which deals get posted. Find more info in our FAQs and About Us page.

Although it's free if you actually care about animal welfare I'd have a look at the news about two years ago. Absolutely atrocious records for animal care, amazed it didn't get closed down. Not surprised it's free to get in.

We went a couple of years ago and couldn’t leave quick enough. The state of the enclosure was terrible, the animals look stressed and miserable. If you’ve been to a reputable zoo like Chester or Blackpool you’ll see.
Free is free for a reason. They keep being on the edge of losing their licence due to the poor treatment of animals/practices.

Live less than a mile from here, foods expensive but if it's free entry you can't argue.
Where is it?
Screenshot above shows it’s on until 26th which is a Saturday not Friday?

Sorry, being off with the kids all week has scrambled my brain
mymymy24/10/2019 21:59

Where is it?

Not far from windermere in Cumbria.
Was there a few weeks ago.
Hot as it's free. But food is expensive.
Work ongoing there too so not all areas in great condition.
Monkeys fab..
Aside from that however not the best animal park around.

I went for the first time a few years ago after it was closed down for a bit (I think, it was a while ago and can't remember all the details) because of all the bad animal treatment. The place was taken over by staff who wanted to change how it was ran, so I was looking forward to some nicely treated animals.

Paid for the wristbands that let you sit in on the talks / feeds. First and only one I went to was a girraffe feed, the person feeding didn't turn up for half an hour and kept shouting at tge girraffes and calling them stupid. Left a bad taste in my mouth, left pretty early.

6 hours drive away, but it's free so why not

Exactly why I wouldn’t go
We have also avoided it for the past 4-5 years because of what happened but I didn’t recognise the place when we went on Tuesday. There seems to have been a lot of investment and enclosures are much bigger.

The place has new owners because of this.
We went this year and were impressed with the friendly staff and improvements.

You're right that was shocking. However don't judge the current management on how things used to be, they are trying to improve I am sure. That is like never going to Germany because of what Adolf did to everyone, or never going to USA because of what Trump is allowing to happen.

Give them a chance.

I don't know who runs the place these days
looks like the council are keeping a close eye
bbc.co.uk/new…662
not that they were not culpable back then
theguardian.com/wor…ths

The place should have been shut down
This is systematic failure over two decades
"Gill’s zoo faced problems as early as 1997, when Zimba, a rare three-tonne white rhino, escaped from its enclosure into a car park, fell into a ditch and was shot dead. Gill was fined £10,000 by Kendal magistrates court for endangering the public and failing to have adequate barriers."

Calling ourselves a country of animal lovers ?
utter joke
Too many reports about terrible animal welfare. I wouldn't go even if it is free entry.
The zoo is on the way to barrow in Furness at Dalton. One road in and one road out. There are plenty of things to do in this part of cumbria. Visit the docklands museum in barrow it is free. Take a walk on walney island deserted even on a bank holiday. You will have beaches to yourself. There is the candle factory shop where they make all the expensive candles, diffuser oils etc. Stop at Ulverston and blow a glass bauble for your Christmas tree. There are historical places to see, cultural and fun things to try. The zoo is not like any other zoo you will visit. And plan to buy something ..They need your money to feed the animals.
Good deal a bit far out for me though
What does OP mean?
