Free Entry to the Louvre for Under 26's

Its obviously not for everyone this deal, but the girlfriend and I just came back from Paris. We were there 2 years ago and visited the Louvre and actually paid to get in.

This time round, we had some mates with us who wanted to visit the Louvre, and we found out through the official website that its actually free for under 26 year old's. You have to ask for the "Youth" ticket at the ticket booth. Its not advertised in the museum itself and they will charge you full Adult price unless you ask for it.

You will save 10 Euro's per person if you decide to go.

Just more of a heads up.

Well it is also free for all visitors on the first Sunday of each month and on July 14.

All info there louvre.fr/llv…=en
drats me too old.
ooh very useful, heading over to Paris next month.
I believe it's the same deal at the Musee d'Orsay.
Excellent find, I'm planning on a day trip to Paris and the Louvre is somewhere my partner and I are interested in visiting
You get in free if you are disabled too. My husband and I went in June and were ushered to the front of the queue and told neither of us had to pay - great!

Unfortunately the locals are very aware of that (and it's also pointed out in many travel guides), so the Louvre is really stinking crowded. So, yes it's free, but it comes at a sucky cost.

Might be alright if you went in Winter though.
Yeah I went there a month ago too. There are so many FREE things to do in Paris if you're under 26 and a EU citizen.

(if you're luckily under 26) link for other places to see in Paris for free

And a suggestion, if anyone is going to Paris soon (before September 5th) try and visit the Centre Pompidou. There is a mega interesting installation on street art by JR. You'll get to have a massive poster sized picture of yourself taken and there are photo booths to take smaller photographs of yourself or with others. These are all FREE and no one has to pay to get into the Centre (but over 26/non EU citizens will have to pay to get into the centre's gallery Musée national d'art moderne. Check out this site for more info - JR

Not always true. My partner is deaf and partially blind and they didn't believe her and would offer no concession. Great museum but that poor experience will not soon be forgotten.
You can also get free entry to the Versailles Palace if you have an EU passport. Just show your passport to them at the entrance.
