Thanks guys I didn't spot that! I will update the header - what a ruddy pain the bum!!!!

Thanks OP

Then take your prescription to Asda for a great deal on glasses.

Thanks a lot OP

On a hospital visit, my last prescription from Specsavers proved to be wrong. I won't be using them again.

This is a very very old promotion that gets renewed every time it expires...

If you want the voucher for other stores, all you have to do is locate your nearest store on the store website and print out the voucher on the corresponding page:

The store that you pick... That's down to you.

EDIT: INSTRUCTIONS
1. Click on the link https://www.specsavers.co.uk/stores
2. Type in your location/desired store
3. Click on the NAME of the store, do not click book online
4. On the "corresponding" page you will see a dotted box with a print icon. For most stores, the inside of the box will state "free eye test".

I hope this is now clear for everyone who do not live in London

I had a similar experience - I knew my vision was getting better, but the optometrist insisted I needed stronger glasses. I sought a second opinion and my suspicion was confirmed. I don't trust these rogues any more. My eyes are precious thank you Specsavers, you unscrupulous rat-bags. This was all a few years ago. I need an eye test again just to check and I have a test booked with Boots Opticians on Monday. Suffice to say, Specsavers wasn't a consideration for me this time!

I foresee a backlash like PPI - "Were you mis-sold stronger prescription specs than you needed?"

I have a family member who refuses to get his eyes checked because he believes Chinese medicine is the solution to everything. He's pretty stubborn regardless and even though I've told him to get his eyes checked he always replies with a no. People need to wear glasses if they can't see well, in his case he almost places his face upon the keyboard/screen -- that's how bad he sees and squints.

To be honest, I don't really like him at all so the less I see (oh, a pun :p) of him the better.

Got it. Thanks.
Generic URL is based on <> where * = name of store.

Thanks for the heads up but being in York it would be one of the most expensive eye tests I've ever had if I go...

Isn't it free every 2 years anyway? Or is it only in Scotland?

same thing happened to be told me I needed varifocals which I certainly did not

It is all LIES. I booked my appointment yesterday in the morning ( 09:40 am )17-12-2016, on getting there I was told that I did not qualify for a FREE EYE TEST, so the lady said that it will be £25 for an EYE TEST.
