Hi!!!

Hope all is well. I just wanted to share with everyone what happened with me today. I was due an eye test for the past 3 years but could not afford it. Cut a long story short... my son dropped a can over my glasses and it broke from the middle. I managed to super glue! it , lol, whilst I rang specsavers to get an appointment. I started looking for a free eye test voucher for private patients. To no avail at my local branch, but another branch, far from me, had the code 8303 available on the website.

Anyway, I go to my appointment and a kind gentleman at Specsavers in Dewsbury tells me that they can accept codes from different stores!!! Yippee! That made my day. Hot enough deal for me. Saved me £20.

Expiry date 31/03/2016

Good Luck Everyone

Just go to tescos it's always free
It's always free at Specsavers as well. The voucher is just a marketing tool to get you into the store.

Beg to differ. It's free if you're buying glasses or with vouchers etc. £19.90 is the standard price if you're not.

Double beg..... always had free eye tests at Specsavers... oh wait, in Scotland
My local Specsavers always charge for eye tests so I have my eyes tested at Tesco then use that prescription anywhere I choose.

Specsavers. It's like going to a time-share sales presentation, but for glasses

my point exactly but when I said that I got hammered of course
I hate going in there. It's like a cattle market and once your eyes have been checked, the professional hard sell begins. "Actually sir, the lenses included in the all you can eat £59 offer aren't suitable for you, so these ones will be £199 but we will throw in another pair for half the price"
Avoid at all cost.
If you use a computer at work, your employer should pay for eye tests for you.

My employer gave me a voucher which I could take to a number of different opticians, so I went to Boots and got the free retina photography as part of the package, and as I've used them before they were able to verify there was no sign of developing problems.

Got a call from them just now only to say they wouldn't honour the voucher code where I am. They only know of a £10 voucher. Quite strange of them to cut off the potential of a sale should I need new glasses.
Go to the Crewe Specsavers store!

Its not always free it is very much store specific.
I would prefer tesco for my eye test because its always free and I can also do my shopping after (or before) which saves me time
Go to specsavers and get told your eyes are in bad shape. Buy glasses. Eyes get worse and worse. Continue to get told buying new glasses will fix your eyes. Its a trap (Escaped due to laser eye surgery )

It was that or continue to get steadily worse vision due to the lenses being prescribed by Specsavers. It was only when a new doc did my sight check and wondered why i hadn't had surgery yet (puts on shades) that my eyes opened
