Hi!

So I was just handed a free FIFA WORLD CUP RUSSIA 2018 sticker album on my way to work. There were loads and loads of these at least in Canary Wharf (in the shopping centre on the lower level in front of Waitrose).

If anyone spots these elsewhere, please comment and I’ll add the information in the description!

A maths professor calculated that it would cost an average of £773 to get all of the stickers for the book .... (easy to find on Google)
Draw the players faces in, instead of spending any money on stickers!

True. But I remember collecting panini stickers and loved it. One of childhoods joys that I'd never deny my kids.

That reads like a Viz top tip.

Maybe cut holes out in the page and then hold it up to the TV when that player comes on screen?

It's like a beginner's guide to addiction - same commercial model as used by drug dealers.

packets have gone from 50p to 80p for this world cup. i know loads of people that did it last world cup, including adults like me "claiming" we were doing it to help our children i dont know anyone doing it this time round
Assuming you never get a double, it would still cost almost £110 to fill (lol). Probably more chance of winning Euro millions than never getting a double!

Yes, but that was for a different manufacturer and different world cup, and did not include shinies, etc. It is more likely to cost over £1000 if you are bill no mates
At 80p a pack this has become way too expensive for most people now. I wouldn't be surprised if this is the beginning of the end for World Cup sticker albums.
I managed to complete mine for less than £100 because if you get lucky and get shinies as swaps then people are willing to swap sometimes up to 20 stickers for one shiny so completed mine easily

That's nonsense really though as he is assuming every single sticker would be obtained just through buying packs, when it has always been the case that the final 50 stickers can be ordered specifically.

80p is still a little dear though, but I collected them from 10 years old and never once completed the book!
They used to have 'sticker' conventions back in the day where kids came in their tens of thousands to swap stickers or buy any remaining stickers to complete their books. Might have been an official Panini thing

I remember this.. I think mine was in a Woolworths store one time.

Also you are right.. stickers are too expensive. Check eBay though, you can find them cheaper on there. And get them delivered to your house.

Yeah, all of a sudden they’ll say “there wasn’t enough interest”... Look at your prices and you’ll see why!!
