Seriously come on, how is this a freebie? You may go ahead and list the freeview TV guide on here.

Good point, and point taken, but hopefully it'll be useful to someone seeing it on here.

It IS very useful - thanks OP, put all 3 matches in the diary.

To bumblafart - this freebie is miles more useful to many more people that 95% of the other freebies posted here, it might be free on terrestrial TV but there are many of us unaware of the free footy matches now Sky & BT have pinched them all (mostly)

Sky killed football

Thankyou....very useful to those who cant afford lifes little luxuries.

Well this is technically not a freebie as you have to pay for the TV license.

If you really think this should remain, maybe move this to the deals page.

I still stand by the fact that this is not a deal!

there's no variable (extra) cost so it remains a freebie

your TV licence is a sunk cost regardless of what you watch during the year.

Not everyone has a TV license, therefore to watch they will have to pay to get one.
Much like how Xbox live gold games & Playstation Plus games are part of the deals section and not classed as a freebie.

not free. a TV licence is needed

most stupidest comment ever

Not free, I don't have a tv licence and as such cannot watch.

Thanks for all the comments guys, this has opened a can of worms!

What I was trying to get at was Pay per View was not required with BT/Sky or whoever to view these games. If you are not paying for a sports subscription, there are not a lot of games on terrestrial TV and maybe this would be welcomed by some.

Having posted some BT Showcase free games recently, I have not had comments like "it's not free, you have to pay for electricity and a TV to watch it on" for example. Similarly, it's a bit like a magazine that you may always buy and this month there is a "freebie" on the cover. What is free is open to interpretation I guess.

Well, I hope at least some people can use the info, and as always, criticism is not unwelcome, everyone has their own opinion on whether a post is useful or not. Hats off to bumbaclart for opening the debate.

wish bbc would give up on football, or at least put it on another channel if they insist on buying a few games. It messes up the regular scheduling of other programs that people tune into every week/day like clockwork.

A few new freebies down, there is a thread about Leeds V Sheffield Wednesday on Sky Mix, no one seems to be moaning that isn't technically freebie, as you'll need some sort of Sky subscription to access the channel.. Bit of consistency folks...

Good for a reminder

Maybe if you go to the pub, take your own drink or a friends house, watch it through a shop window etc then it's free

If you watch it at home legally then one way or another you or someone else pays !

many freebies are not free for all yet still seen as freebies

eg the o2 deals - eg the water company deals, gutted not to get my free 2 minute timer from united utilities - eg the free margarita pizza as no outlet convenient to me etc etc
