It's just a really bad service for the consumer, irrespective of how much funding the Stadia department has. Out of the gate, GeForce Now allows you to play your Steam (and Epic) library for no additional cost. Why would anyone choose Stadia over that?
Think google will be abandoning stadia before too long. at least there doesnt appear to be any effort to make it into something people want.

Because it's a terrible service with terrible games to play.
I'm enjoying my Stadia. They are currently tracking 120 games for 2020. It's just gonna take a bit to time to get the AAA titles.
I suggest everyone commenting on Stadia discloses if they have It or not. [I have stadia] and i like it.

I bought a buddy pass, the service itself works well. Geforce Now works better for me, and uses steam and uplay etc (inc Uplay+)

Such a shame Google will probably buy exclusivaty away from GFN as games have been removed recently.

I haven't got my Shadow subscription so cant comment on that yet but.

GFN>Stadia>Xcloud>PSNow

Only Shadow can play Super widescreen res on phones, all the others have big black borders, such a shame as mobile AAA gaming is a huge selling point!!!

No additional cost, except the cost of the service? Stadia will offer a free version. Also the pro version comes with free games.

Also many people don't have a large Steam library, so it would be aimed at those people? That's like saying why would anyone buy a PS4 because they could play their games on Steam.

The basic GeForce Now service currently exists and is free. Stadia will have one too, but it's not yet live. And on GeForce Now, even if I don't have an extensive Steam or Epic library I can add all the free games, sale price games, and play them. Can't do that with Stadia. Gotta buy from Google and Google alone, at ridiculous prices from what we read.

Your analogy with PS4 is a stretch. It's a different platform to PC, often with its own exclusives. Both GeForce Now and Stadia are pure PC.
Ohhh, something to read on /r/Stadia

Bought the FE, no longer a subscriber. The service was good but the degradation in quality compared to PC or console just isn't worth it over something like Geforce now.

With queues and with a 1 hour session limit though.

You're right, there is no F2P on Stadia yet, but I think that is coming - if you look how they've separated Destiny 2 out, it seems that the base game will be free for all when base launches.

On prices, the Stadia sales have been pretty decent to be honest. Better than I expected.

Stadia has exclusives too, Gylt is the biggest one for now, but more are coming. It's not at all pure PC - it's running a custom version of Linux and games have to be ported to it.

Oh the Stadia free service is definitely coming, but I'd be very surprised if there weren't similar limitations to GeForce Now. However, if Google up their game by not having limitations on their basic service it could be what differentiates Stadia and gives the service a commercial fighting chance. As it stands, I wouldn't choose it out of the two options being discussed.
April 1st, is this a joke?

Remind me after the free tier has been out a couple of months. The controller might eventually be useful again.
I have Stadia Pro as a founder. Love it. No problems what so ever and the flexibility to play on my phone, laptop, desktop, TV's, at work, in my camper, at friends houses in the garden is brilliant.
Wow amazing line up lol
Stadia is actually embarrassing. Great way for Google fans to lose more money though, so it serves a purpose.

As much as I'm not a huge fan of the Epic Games Launcher, it has set the standard of what free games on a platform means in order to gain traction. Anything less than that is not even worth a look, especially when it's not really free because you are paying a sub.

Because most of the games are old and extremely cheap to buy making the monthly sub not worth it. Who wants to stream and play farming simulator. That's not a platform defining title or a reason to sub.

These games are for Pro members, aka paying members, but Epic Game Store offers better freebies than this dross.

Just an additional wait...

I got my Premiere edition in December but still haven't received the code yet as I'm I'm waiting for a better line up the monthly games side and I still have stacks of other games to play. Fingers crossed for Red Dead 2!
I'm reasonably pleased with Stadia. On the Chromecast it is flawless, on pc it's not so smooth, but still good enough. Sometimes it's really pixelated, the doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
GeForce works almost as well in steam quality but lately the queue has been up around the 250 mark, the other night I left it queueing for over an hour while I played Grid on Stadia.
Stadias library is ok, games start expensive but get discounted pretty quickly. The base version of The Division 2 is only £8.25! Grid was free on Pro sub too!
I've been playing through Destiny 2 and the DLC as well, so I feel I've got my money's worth.

Well if I may ask a question, I saw that only pro members could get free games and play at Max settings so if a free member buys a game can they play in Max settings, because the way google wrote it it seemed what's the word bad!

There are queues for GFN because its free, as a Founder I have never had to queue at all.

Personally I have covered all bases and tested all the cloud gaming platforms, I wasnt going to get a next gen console but unfortunately cloud gaming isn't a replacement just yet, so I will end up with a series x.

I might keep Shadow for mobile gaming and using my Steam and Game Pass libraries though.

Founder isn't free either though right? Also, to upgrade to pay version was sold old when I looked last night 😬

Queue wise you were comparing free vs paid. Very unfair comparison.

If Xcloud ups its game and comes with Game Pass Ultimate we may have a winner! (Series X with free Monthly Xcloud, or cross play with Xcloud on every purchase!

Whoa I'm shocked as it's a rare sight seeing heat for stadia or itunes. I love stadia as played so many different genres flawlessly. I didn't want these games but I'm happy to check them out because of stadia convenience
