this is a virtual operator on the O2 network

what network do they use? or what is there coverage like?

You seem to have to miss the first 0 of freephone numbers, which they don't appear to tell you when you leave it on, like O2 do!

I was trying to call BT on their 0800 number the other day and was getting frustrated because it wouldn't connect, eventually I tried missing off the leading 0, like you do on o2, and it works!

I have tried a couple of dial through 0800 numbers, but they seem to have blocked these.

Looks like good deal. I was thinking of transferring my daughter to Asda tarriff for the 4p texts. But am I right in thinking Asda is on T-mobile/3 network & this is O2 in which case she'll get much better coverage on this.

Sorry, but I couldn't use a company with 'giffgaff' for a name.

Shortsighted I know...

Asda use VodafoneCoverage checker herehttp://asdamobile.com/coverage.html

Thanks, I've had contracts with O2 & Orange in the past. Both were fine here. Currently on Vodaphone which is great, but VIrgin & T-mobile were next to useless.

If some one need £5 extra top-up credit for a new sim, just PM me... So you will get free giffgaff sim and £5 extra top-up credit if you will activate it.

The 0500 freephone calls are also free on Giffgaff, by dialling 500 followed by the rest of the number. If there are freephone number I guess the same applies.

In case the few who still have locked O2 iphone, this works perfectly and infact I'm using one with this instead of my original O2 paygo sim as the rates are much better with free Internet access, so is a win-win situation. :-D

For those lucky to get away, charges when roaming in Europe are UK is 35p/m and SMS is 11p. Though not really cheap but I think is in line with other networks. See giffgaff.com/ind…ing

Anyone who also wants a free sim with a bonus £5 when topped up with £10, PM me. Incase anyone is wondering top ups can only be made either online or by text message (providing your credit card is preregistered with them).
