Hope this comes through

How would they would if you have or haven't got Coeliac disease...?

Great for the people who need it..:)

Exactly!! I'm a Coeliac sufferer and trust me, you don't eat this stuff unless you really have to, so it irritates the hell out of me with this type of freebie, when non-sufferers want free stuff just because it's free!!

LOL they will only do it once,
i still laugh at the look on my wife's face as she tries gluten free food and says "it tastes just like normal food" whilst desperately repressing her gag reflex

its not so bad now, find the tesco seeded to be the best out there, genius tastes niceish but is too soft to butter without breaking up.
when i was young bread came in a tin and was like sandpaper after 12hrs exposed to air lol

Under Name, Address, Gender etc it asks if you have coeliac and you have to tick a box if you do. That is how they know.

Hate to break it to you, but the way the market works is that if more people are given the opportunity to try and potentially want to purchase something the better the range and usually the quality will improve. So if you want it to get better then adopting an inclusive attitude is probably your best bet.

If you want it to get better then let the rest of us have your free stuff!

my gastro consultant has recommended a FODMAPS lifestyle for a while-hopefully this lets me see what i could use etc so fingers crossed it comes.

Please please please remember Coeliac disease is not a food allergy or an intolerance, it is an autoimmune disease.

Eric.

I've always maintained gluten free food was created as a form of cheap housing. Use the rolls as bricks, and digestive biscuits for roof tiles. They're solid, and from dipping in my tea I can attest completely waterproof.

Great for people that need it, though it's not nice to be nasty about food other people eat! It just makes yourself look intolerant, rather than the people who eat it I'm well aware of differences between coeliac/allergy/intolerance/beliefs but implying any one is more 'important' than the other is not cricket really, is it? As other people have said, with a higher demand comes better products which are good for all though people will abuse this like the sweet freedom sample and then people who need it won't get it and decide to boycott the company There's such a great choice of free-from foods these days and hopefully will only get better

ordered for nephew who is a coliec

Someone who is allergic to gluten will get very sick if they eat gluten, which trumps whatever someone else "believes" about not eating gluten out of choice/fads, so yes, they are more important.

Why not try understanding or research rather than judgement or 'ranking' what other people eat? It has nothing to do with you!

Thank you OP, have a coeliac son so always on the look out for free samples for him.

How on earth do you know I haven't? Oh, that's right, you don't.

Are you seriously trying to say someone who avoids gluten just because its the latest trendy fad has the same rights as someone who will get very sick if they eat it?

Are you seriously saying some people have rights and some people don't?!?! I'm terribly sorry if my belief in equality for all offends you! Cheer up it's xmas time there's no reason at all for you to be nasty!

You actually get a £4 voucher. I received mine a couple of days ago and there wasnt no packets of food, its vouchers to go and collect a pack yourself from retailers like Asda and Tesco

Way to twist my words. I haven't been nasty, seems you just can't handle a differing opinion (another right people have!)

People have the right to choose what they want to eat. But, hypothetically, two people who don't eat gluten are starving. One chooses not to because its trendy, and the other has celiac disease. There's some gluten free food and some regular gluten food. Not enough to share. Who gets the gluten free food? The person on the fad diet who won't get ill from the regular food, or the person with celiac disease who'll get ill from the regular food?

Hi OP thanks for posting might be worth adding "GLUTAFIN" to your title :).

My daughter is gluten intolerant, she is 17 and has been her whole life, she cant have wheat, oats. barley rye or anything with gluten in it without it causing her problems but she is not coeliac, she is of course on a gluten free diet.

Glutafin were one of the companies that were recommended to us many years ago, I contacted them then explained her diagnosis and samples were sent, they have over the years sent other samples - she is on some sort of mailing list.

Over the years gluten free foods have improved - and being able to have a sample to try is fantastic as the cost of the items is expensive compared to standard items so saves waste if not liked.

Have not requested this but thanks for posting I am sure there are a lot of people who will benefit - heat added

I ordered one for my sister as she has recently been diagnosed - the hamper came within a week and included full size samples of pizza bases, a loaf of bread, pasta, cake mix, crackers And other bits. She then recieved a £4 voucher a few days later aswel.

Please note: Glutafin is a specialist healthcare brand available on prescription. The contents of this hamper are suitable only for those people medically diagnosed with coeliac disease. Please do not claim if you have not received this diagnosis as the offer is limited - invalid claimants may cause those who need the hamper to miss out. For further information please visit the Glutafin website.

Many thanks,

The Glutafin Team
