FREE Google Home with John Lewis Broadband - a 12 month contract starts at £22.50/month

John Lewis Broadband with a 12 month contract (not like some of the 18 month ones you see around) - and Google home which I know has been discounted quite a bit since Black Friday but is £129 at the moment.

Cheapest broadband (Unlimited download) starts at just £22.50 per month so when you take out the cost of Google Home (albeit at £129) - it's just £11.75 per month!

From their site:
  • Three great value broadband and phone packages
  • Router and Evening and Weekend call plan included
  • 24/7 freephone UK customer support
  • No activation charges or usage caps
  • Google Home: Hands-free smart speaker

From user f34: Looks like £50 quidco too

They've increased their fibre costs £7.50pm since a couple of weeks ago, to make the Google home cost back!

Tasty deal, real question is do you have to have a phone line installed? I don't have one and don't want one.

Yikes. HOT.

If the 50 quid Quidco comes through this is a hot deal indeed! Heat added. This needs adding to the OP.

Surely this is cold? Pricier than the main providers and much smaller cashback. BT example fibre 31.99 pm, £170 cashback. The broadband world has moved on beyond this imho.

Already with BT so that offer no good for me. Plus I thought they'd done away with being able to get Quidco AND the reward card?

Anyway, just cancelled with BT for free (day 29 since I got my increase email!!) and when I told them about this deal bloke said he couldn't compete with it so no offer although he tried to major on what sort of service JL provide to which I replied 'It's JL!". Sort of shut him up lol. Now to apply, going for the 76mb Fibre at 36.50/mth (BT charge 40 quid/mth for this with 125 quid reward card (which i obviously can't get)...plus 29.99 quid one-off chages!

If I get the quidco (not guaranteed) AND the Google Home (almost guaranteed) I'll be laughing.

What's the speed of the cheapest? Line rental too?

22.50/mth.

Do you have to contact BT if you're switching away due to price rises, or can you let the new ISP deal with it all?

You HAVE to contact BT AFAIA as you need to give them 30 days notice. Be sure to ask them to confirm no exit fees by email.

Interesting, the £36.50 a month for "Extra", equivalent to BT Infinity 2, includes Line Rental.
Not a bad deal at all.

Currently paying BT over £70 for Infinity 2, Line Rental and BT Sport which I don't watch. Might look at this. I note they use Plusnet.

I was with PlusNet for ADSL before I bought BT infinity and was always happy with them. YMMV, obviously.

Currently with BT, their reviews seem similar and I haven't had an ounce of bother.

Which is wholly owned by BT!

seems a good deal... shame.i cant switch from virgin due to running vu+ through it.

Just realised I've bagged 2 free Google Homes in the last 3 days (this and the amazing Telegraph deal)

Just moved to BT from these... Couldn't wait to get away. (I'm talking about £32 fibre connection which I would avoid at that price)

Biggest problem was the supplied router.... then they had a tiny upload rate which has been improved now (if you tired to upload a video the rest of the connections would just freeze)

Never had an outage apart from the router which we had to bypass, seemed to be problems with what the PS4 was sending it. Support is with plusnet but you can't use the BT router like you can with plusnet. Very polite but were no help at all with problems

I did update the firmware a few times and tried it for a bit and seemed more stable.

And BT owns Plusnet. Madness

Just ordered, thanks OP.

Under the terms and conditions there is a Cease Fee of £25, Doe that mean when you want to leave after 12 months you have to pay ?

Already with PlusNet as this is with PlusNet will I be accepted? contract finished so this is a good deal for me as I use the landline during the day for work

Just signed up with vodafone yesterday am i able to still cancel that and take this up?

Check out the reviews for all the others on there and come to the realisation that they are no worse than any of them. You have to remember the compunction to take the time to leave a review is much more appealing if you aren't happy with the company/service.

i can't see why not, you are signing up with John Lewis who just happen to use Plusnet's backbone. A bit like moving from EE to BT Mobile.

Looks like Quidco may not pay out

only trouble with these, if a google advert comes on tv, the google home just starts talking, telling the time, reading the news etc.

Same with our Echo...quite funny TBH.

These will be free inside Cornflakes soon. When it happens I expect a mention from the OP

JL Fibre used to be £22.50 per month with the extra at £27.50. This is a huge price increase.

The prices at the moment are actually cheaper than the equivalent Plusnet (the company who's backbone they use/resell) charges..

That didn't include line rental £15.50.

Did this yesterday as BT sent me an email saying prices were going up in January, if you're also doing this make sure you call BT once they send you an email confirming your cancellation charges, they waved the £55 hardware fee and my final contract month amount even though I'm moving to JL. Since JL is really Plusnet in disguise I'd imagine the service will be pretty good, the BT guy also tried to tell me their service might be rubbish!

Also got confirmation Quidco £50 had been tracked straight away, so if you can sell the Google Home it could bring this down to £7.50 a month for standard ADSL!

You can also buy a static IP for one-off £5 for anyone that needs one.
