This offer was on before Christmas and is back on now. Sign up for any John Lewis broadband package and get a Google Home for free. Not the cheapest broadband but only 12 month contract so if you don't want to commit for 18 months and are in the market for a Google Home then a worthwhile deal.

Nice find @birdski - heat added
Free evening and weekend calls included too, heat added, just signed up
Plus possible £52.50 TCB
£22.50 and not Fibre? I guess this is the equivalent of the plus.net £19.99 deal (who provide for John Lewis) £2.50 x 12 = £30 for the Google Home though.

For reference plus.net are doing fibre for £24.99...
Got this last time it was posted (the fibre2 at 36.50). It's plusnet, really, and we were without BB for 10 days due to a cock up on their part. The first 2 support people i talked to had simply no idea what they were doing/talking about but eventually got one who had a brain and got it sorted. with the appropriate compo given. Hasn't left me with a very positive view of Plusnet TBH.

PS Got 85 quid on shpock for the Google Home and 50 quid Quidco still pending.

Do we need to return Google home if we cancel our contract after the 12 month contract? I hope they will not qualify this Free thing as "their equipment" that they provide when you are with them. Did someone ask them because it not say anything on their page?

Flipping hope not, mine has been sold!

PS Don't forget, in 12 month's time Google will be giving them away in Corn Flakes boxes!!

yep!
signed up for this over xmas also - got the google home too, and £55 TCB at the time.

My speed went from 65mbps to 48 - was shocked, so raised a query and an openreach engineer visited, who was a complete T*sser, and did nothing, then my speed went up again. !? Odd. otherwise happy with the JL service and speed.

unlikely, its an incentive to join, not an equipment rental.

No - their terms and conditions don't specify so, and they'd have to if it was rental. Even with equipment, this term has to be in their T&Cs - which you also don't have to return unless you cancel within the initial 2 week cancellation period.

Bonus - if John Lewis raise their price during the 12 months, you can leave penalty free, but you would still get to keep the google home. Did this with Sky once - got a £100 mastercard then they hiked their price after 2 months, so i left for a tidy profit.

Nope! It's yours to keep.

Not if you've been with them 12 months or they increase their prices at any time during those 12 months.

Does the plusnet price include line rental? I am currently on Sky broadband
Have been with John Lewis broadband for a few months and they are 95% better than Talk Talk that I had been with for the previous year and who were simply atrocious, so I just rung them to ask if i could have the Google Home too, but they said it is for new customers only. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to try, does it?
Awful speeds at extortionate prices. Not worth it for a free Google home.

Yes this is correct, Plusnet is BT owned and operated, they purchased them a few years back.

A lot of ISPs and Mobile Phone Network providers in the UK are just resellers of BT.
I pay £9.50 per month on sky for broadband. not worth it for me.

I just got an Alexa. I didn't buy it it was gifted. I like it but I'm paranoid of it! It's picked up things that's been said without me even saying the Alexa word & answered & well can't repeat on here, scary sh*t! So it's total BS saying they only listen when you use the word. They're listening 24/7!! Big Brother is watching!! It's like the Matrix/Minority report movies turned real!

how come you pay £9.50?

They had an offer on here in August 2017. I called them yesterday to let them know i am moving home and they are going to install a new line and also offered to install a new dish, 1tb sky q box with entertainment package. installation is free, i will just pay extra £10 per month. So in total i will be paying £19.49 for unlimited broadband, Tel line and sky q with entertainment package all installed.

If it helps, I actually ordered Fiber Extra with John Lewis yesterday (with the free Google Home) for £36.50 a month. I then was contacted today by BT offering me 80mb BT Infinity 2 for £24 a month (inc line rental and evening/weekend calls) if I stayed with them instead, and I thought that was a good enough deal to stick with them (one of my mates has just taken the same deal with them - but 18 months for £40 per month!).

At the end of the day, play hard ball with your current suppliers and see how much they want to keep you - I've never gone so far as actually ordering with someone else before, and this was actually by accident this time, but it seems like the best deals these days are for retentions (if you can be bothered with the hassle!). Again, my experience wasn't necessarily the best deal out there (I managed to somehow have Sky Entertainment and Fiber for £12 a month two years ago !) but it's worth the hassle if you can get them to give you a good deal

Anyone get the Google Home yet?

My broadband went live 8 days ago, although I have had issues, lost phone and broadband, which required a BT engineer visit, the overhead line had been damaged by a tree (obviously just wear & tear issue, nothing to do with JL)

Back working now so I will be contacting JL regarding the Goggle Home.
My Google Home arrived on Saturday.
