Free Green Flag Euro Breakdown for 1 year (after Quidco) - £99.36

My car insurance renewal came through with European breakdown included at £99 extra. After looking on the web this is the same price as a new policy with Green Flag but Quidco have £100 cashback expiring today! So if it works it's free, if not it's the same as I would have paid anyway!

Bit risky to rely on Quidco. Nationwide's FlexPlus is a better deal IMO at £120/year for breakdown cover, travel insurance, phone insurance and additional warranty on some purchases Fair enough if you're more comfortable with this since you have experience with it though!

Quidco down
Sorry working finally but if you had cashback before it can track this by veh details
May reject

I have the flex plus one, there is a lot of small print... I'm a bit unsure whether to use it without being liable for the eventual cost. Might be the same whichever recovery insurance you buy though.

As and rac on offer but not free as above

Thanks, think I will go with this as broke down the other day on the … Thanks, think I will go with this as broke down the other day on the motorway with 2 toddlers, the AA towed us off the motorway pretty quickly but then dumped us in a car park for 6 hours on the hottest day with hardly any money left for food n drink for the kids after stinging us to upgrade our policy.

Sounds awful for the children but not AA's fault that you were irresponsible enough not to be carrying sufficient money. Also you had clearly not paid for the service you needed, again not their fault. They are a business after all.

It's not FREE and the title needs correcting. It will cost £116 (from) via Quidco.
A good deal with Quidco, but if you don't need the European Cover, the Recovery Plus is from £60 with £50 cashback (if paid).

Like the idea of the recovery plus for £60 with £50 cash back. Would this only cover me or would my wife (who has a separate car) also be covered ?

Get a quote as it's 'from' £60 and only around 10% of customers achieve that price - or so they say!
I was quoted just under £80.

Do what I do... Ignore the idiots
Their "starting from" price is a joke.
My recovery plus is coming up at £100 and European at £150.

Mine cost £99.36 there's another discount for online apparently so IF it tracks I'll be 66p better off.

Twice had quidco rejected through Green Flag, pain in the backside having to fight for the cashback.

Took nearly 1 year to get cashback and had to raise a ticket. Not worth the risk. Better off going to Start Rescue!

Yes, just ignore the idiots. It's not your fault that you drove on the motorway (with your precious toddlers), on the hottest day, without adequate breakdown recovery. It's not your fault at all.

The AA should have relayed you to your destination, for free. It's all their fault.

Never take responsibility, blame someone else, and make sure you pass that lesson on to your children.

Green Flag covers the vehicle - no matter who is driving. To cover another vehicle in the household, you need to add Personal Cover. This would allow you and one other member of your household to be covered in any vehicle (that's under 16 years old and privately registered in the UK). Or Family Cover does the same thing but for up to 4 members of your household. So no need for multiple separate policies. The cheapest way to cover everyone is to get a quote on each vehicle, and buy the cheapest with Personal/Family Cover added on. Hope that helps.

I'm not sure what cover the motorway driver had but I had the full cover and the AA did the same with me. Took me off the motorway then left me in a service station for hours. about five hours later they picked me up again and took me home but I obviously cancelled my policy and went with the AA.

I did have cover, due to THEIR system error they believed I didn't. I … I did have cover, due to THEIR system error they believed I didn't. I paid the price twice just to get home and have since claimed a refund and they have admitted their mistake. Like I say, you don't know the facts! My problem mainly was in fact with the wait so therefore won't be using them again. Didn't anyone tell you if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all

Perhaps you should have said that in the first place.

Get a grip and lose the victim mentality. You aren't being "attacked". You chose to air your opinions on a public forum and you received a response based on your original post.

Please re-read one of your quotes: "if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"

Thanks for the post. I have purchased recovery plus for £49.82 today and it has tracked through Quidco at £50 within an hour. Very happy!
