Just had a notification of a free soup reward on the Greggs App I have never spent anything on it so must be for all users.
FREE SOOUUP
Free Soup Reward
1. The Free Soup reward is valid from 6th November 2014 up to and including the 5th December 2014, after which time it will expire and no longer be available to you.
2. The free soup will be credited to your Greggs Rewards account for you to redeem in a participating Greggs shop.
3. To redeem your free soup, you simply need to ask for it and tell the Team Member at the Greggs shop that you are paying with Greggs Rewards. You then generate a code (8 digit or QR code) through the Greggs smartphone app in the usual way or online within the Greggs Rewards pages. Inputting the code will identify you as the Greggs Rewards account holder and the promotion will automatically be applied, so that you can enjoy your free soup.
4. The soups available over this period are the Christmas Lunch soup and the Tomato soup. Most shops will sell both varieties every day, however some shops will only sell one variety on any given day. These shops will alternate the variety of soup on a daily basis.
5. This is not in conjunction with any other offer and subject to availability.
6. The free soup is valid for take-away purchases only.
7. This prize has no cash value and cannot be exchanged for any other product or cash.
8. Greggs plc reserves the right to withdraw this offer at any time.
9. Greggs plc reserves the right to substitute any product within this promotion at its absolute discretion.
10. Only one free soup is redeemable per person, despite a person having multiple Greggs Rewards accounts.

However, free soup is free soup (I've also had the notification) so I will take advantage, although I won't be spending anything else via the app as I was double charged last time (due to staff incompetence with the app), which used up all my remaining credit.
PS: Voted HOT
Thanks, Greggs - good that unlike most companies they look after existing customers and not just new one.
The hot dog promo was the previous offer, which has now ended ( I redeemed it during October.)
Couldn't agree with you more. I very much like Greggs and its food - very good value for the money. But the hot dog was absolutely vile. One of the most disgusting things I've tasted for a very long time. 90% of it went straight into the bin. Never, ever again!
Hey you have to go to rewards .. you will see blue bar saying press to spend now & it will flip with a bar code no. nd something to scan .. n i think dats the free burger code... your bal shows 0 bt u get the bar code
The app is a little weird. There's no code to use. You just pay as usual using the app. But it doesn't take anything from the balance. The staff don't all know that, which is hardly surprising because it seems entirely illogical to be apparently paying for what is a free item.
same here. No soup even after verifying your email.
Oh well.
I'll have to make do with free Starbucks for lunch
Not particularly pleasant if you're holding up a long queue because the staff member can't process payment.
Greggs have been pushing this app quite heavily and claim it speeds things up - take note Greggs management if you're going to encourage the app then at least provide your staff with the proper training!
Speeds things up? Every time I've used the app it's taken several times longer than paying cash - it's an embarrassment to use!
Hi, do the rewards go away after you make the transaction? And should they be in your purchase history, even if they are at zero cost?
I ask this because I just tried to get the free breakfast. A few mins later I checked and it had deducted a £1. In the purchase history I've it only says I got Oats for a £1.
Options are:
1) to fix this and get £1 back that I can use again. How on Earth do I go about doing this anyway!
2) If the free breakfast reward wasn't processed, then I may as well try to use it again, as I get more value from that as I get a £1s worth of porridge + a drink + less effort than trying to sort it out I feel. Slightly unethical, but kind of not really my fault. Is this even an option to me though, if the reward is still there it means I can still use it right?
I take it that you don't have any credit. what do I do as I have balance, and because these guys don't know how to use it it's just going to deduct it...
I guess I could open up another account with no credit (though I guess that you are not strictly supposed to do that).
same here! registered but no reward - wasted 20 minutes
