They destroyed my hair/style last time. The fact is they all were not honest about their training experiences. They all said 1.5 or 2 weeks more till graduation. In fact, they were very junior to make you believe and to feel comfortable. When I realised this guy did not quite know what he was really doing and it in fact went horrid, I stopped him and asked him to call his supervisor to finish off and I could see his supervisor was not happy either. All wrong!!!

But it was free :-) Cut my own hair in lock down, definitely can't get worse than that! And I'm thinking that a lot of people genuinely can't afford these £15 being on furlough or made redundant!
Mg1995 - they are running classes that will start exactly at the time. You just need to be there 10 minutes earlier hence likely got less waiting time than at a normal walk in. I go for a fade weekly and there isn't much that can go wrong. I wouldn't go there before a wedding or if I need my hair cut to perfection, but for shorter sides it's a very low risk thing to do. :-)

They always offer very cheap haircuts, but I've always been anxious about going. Has anybody else done it and how does it compare with a normal barbers?

From what I remember, you have to book in advance and it could take a very long time to be seen and then to have the haircut.

Farringdon & Liverpool Street are in London so maybe add that to the title?

Already booked in, but is this deal nicked?
this is fine. had it before. just be prepared for two hours though.
Hairdressers and barbers are having a hard enough time at the moment. This is really not good for them.
In my opinion this is wrong at the moment.

This is not a free professional haircut, it's from a school full of trainees. They have a lot to gain even when providing a free haircut.

Yes. But professionals have a living to earn and this is taking business away. I went past the one in Manchester the other day and it was pretty full. If someone was offering Tor services for free at a time you were struggling to earn a living, I suspect you wouldn’t be overjoyed.

I don't think this will be taking much business away. Barbers/hairdressers have been packed since reopening.

Those who would make use of this offer aren't likely to be the same group of people who would go to a barber paying full price. I think only people who already went to colleges for cheap haircuts before and those who are financially struggling would consider this.

I've been going there the past two years, as long as you arrive 10 mins before the time you booked you'll be waiting for a max of 15 mins. The haircuts are actually quite good as well and in my experience better than the usual £10 barbers

I go here all the time. Always had a decent cut, and the educator will finish it off if needed. Usually starts on time, but haircut takes around an hour. Not a problem for me but best not to book it if you have to rush somewhere afterwards.

In my experience, the students at the end of the course are better than regular barbers because they know they are being evaluated on their work so they put a lot of effort into it. With students who are at the beginning of their course, it’s a hit or miss (mostly hit), but shouldn’t be a problem if you want just a normal haircut, nothing especially fancy.
Good deal if you don't value your time or appearance, suitable perhaps for the unemployed

Well one person going years ago or month ago will have a different experience :/ lol it’s students... if you can afford a £15 haircut get a haircut if you can’t go here simple
Three round the sides 2 on top

Curb your arrogance. It isn't just the haircut that makes your appearance. Its worth a try and like everyone else said correcty they are students and some might be better than others but that's the same with any barber.

If you start relating income to these deals you're on the wrong platform I'm afraid as I'm sure a lot of people browse around here that rely do not struggle, including myself.
My hair cut from the Turkish barber coats less than this and he's fantastic....

Couldn’t agree more. Took the trainee around 2 hours to do a basic skin-fade which I still had to finish myself when I got home. Left me looking like Lloyd from Dumb & Dumber.

Yes, indeed I did. Having not seen any review, I decided to give it a shot; experienced what they do and now I’m passing on my experience to others, if that’s OK with you, of course...
You can see the fear in the model's eyes.
I used to take advantage of these deals quite a lot during my uni days. This deal isn't for you if you want a perfect haircut in a timely manner.

Majority of times, the haircut quality has been great and just as good as my local barbers (where i pay £15).

A handful of times, the trainee has truly effed it up and the supervisor had to step in to try and save it.

It's free and its helping the trainees become experienced barbers. Hot from me

I've been to the Farringdon branch at least a dozen times and another school another dozen times near Liverpool St, never had a bad experience and alot better than haircuts I get for £10-15 elsewhere.

Only issue is you can be there anything from 45mins to 1.5hours.

This is okay for me, not much hair left so when I go barbers I don't expect them to make it good as the photos lol. But when I had hair I needed the best. Probably best you avoid these places if you take an interest in how you look. They are all practicing what they read from books.

They have offered free cuts and shaves for years. This is not new.
I tried to create a post about my local training school doing the same, but admin refused it... really not sure why...

London School of Barbering used to be free but they introduced a small fee around £3 to £6 last year. This is a saving on that while demand is low (particularly with the London ones being in the City and hardly any office workers going in).
