Done it now, thanks. Managed to book one. Heat given, this could be invaluable.
Last time this came up I contacted some places via email and no one replied!
I went on the coarse in Southwark but be aware that it's a 3 hour one and not an hour that they said on the booking email.

Booked for Friday. My confirmation email is for a 75 minute course. Any longer and I may need resuscitation myself!
I hate these local only deals with no online purchase, release the geese! Hopefully I can bag myself 10 of these for eBay \s
Everyone should know how to do this !
If you don't break a rib or two you aren't doing it properly.
Not sure I want a few broken ribs... guess I’ll be saving a life though

Yep same here!
You are about a million more time likely to be attacked by your heart, than by a terrorist.
Following the previous posting of this offer late last year, in December I attended a half day course held at York. Not been on a CPR course before and found it very useful. Even if you've had CPR training before, it does no harm to check you are aware of current best practice.

Studies suggest rib fractures only occur in about 30% of patients. Sternum is a bit more common. The cracking sound us usually cartilage.

I emailed the heart start and they said they don't have any free sessions for the public at the moment but possibly in a few. Months time
Ps
Baffles me why first aid is not part of school curriculum now including CPR and how to use a defib

Same here.
How do we book it? I can't see any link there, I called my closest centre but they don't provide training to adults but only to children.
emailed one from the website again to be told

"I only deliver CPR training for the organization I work for" Told him he is listed on that site and he said "Yes I know I am going to have myself removed "

Amazed you got a reply!!
I waited a few months for the session.
Please understand that the people that carry out the classes are Volunteers doing this when they can. (The 2 gents that did mine were also "Emergency First Responders" if thats the right term, who get calls in their own home area and try to get to emergencies before the Paramedics or Ambulances if possible .......outside of there normal jobs.....
Absolute bloody heroes in my book and they attended the terrorist ars****** attack in Borough Market too.
Don't worry about the wait because its worth it

True although a few guys I worked with found a guy unconscious who had already started turning blue, they did hands only CPR, he survived and came into the depot with a thank you card for them.

Looks like I'm having the same problem of not getting a reply to a polite email sent. Oh well.

At least you'd be giving someone a fighting chance rather than standing by and doing nothing.
