Excellent initiative here and I hope you can all find a suitable event if you are interested.

Heritage Open Days is England's largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,000 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Every year in September, places across the country throw open their doors to celebrate their heritage, community and history.

Bletchley (tickets yet not available online so it is highly recommended that you phone them up to book tickets!): heritageopendays.org.uk/vis…ays

Could you remind us all in about 8 weeks time please?
FYI for anyone London based - just had a quick look, and these are my shortlisted ones. Your own personal preferences may vary, but hope these help!

These places are either National Trust properties, normally have admission fee, and within 50 miles of where I live in London:

Thanks, at last some concrete information!
Bletchley Park well worth a visit. Pity the government do not give them some money, instead of wasting it on stupid schemes like Boris's floating bleeding bridge, as the last time I was there was in need of some severe repair work!
viewing nice homes reminds me of something
have a look at where you could've lived
Excellent. Weather permitting, I hope to visit Knightshayes Court and Dunster Castle which are both NT properties within 50 miles of where I live in Somerset.
Those with a CSSC card remember this is free all the time.
It will be very very busy even on paying days the queues go round the corner.
anything for kids under 5?
Do you need a code for Bletchley Park?

Can't believe nothing in south Wales
Bletchley is showing as fully booked for all days, has it gone then or will they release more at some point?
Thank you for posting this, did not realise that

Those with a CSSC card remember this is free all the time.

We are off to visit Knightshayes Court tomorrow for their open day (normally £12.20pp entry). No booking required. Hopefully, Dunster Castle the weekend after.
Thanks for sharing!
