Saw this in London, and thought it was definitely worth posting on here as a freebie. Cost = nothing.

Selphi.org are looking for men, trans men and trans women who have sex with men, to take part in a study & provide some short, anonymous feedback with results and other questions.

They offer support for people with HIV, and have a wealth of information on their website.

Just click the "Take Part" button in the middle of the site to sign up. You don't need to give any accurate personal information that you can be identified by, but they do need your address to send a kit through the post - it's sealed and packaged in an envelope, and you'd have no idea what was inside. No questions to be asked by anyone.

Just for clarity, I am not linked to this project or organisation.

Goot URL, thanks for adding! My area is not covered by that, neither is my place of work, my parents, or my other immediate family (all in different areas on the UK). Only one postcode I used was eligible. Good though if you are in an eligible area, for sure.

I think as long as you tick yes to the question “Have you ever had sex without a condom with someone who you know“ then it says your eligible, if you click no it says your not.

Or just select that your a man who has sex with another man, then it doesn’t ask you for any additional questions and then straight away says your eligible. At least it saves you paying £30 rrp
Each local borough/council maintains a budget for sexual health. It's well worth checking to see what your council offers as they vary wildly.

Where I was living before, nothing was available. I did once find a free instant (at home) HIV test thanks to a post on here or Twitter for one funded by the THG.

Where I moved to recently, online you can order a full STD kit (blood and swabs) and send it off to a lab. Privately, it costs £100+ for the same-level of test you'd get walking in to the NHS. Condoms and lube are also available to your door, for free.

Anybody that wants cheap condoms can buy them at the most discounted prices, subsidised by the Central and North West London NHS Trust, at freedoms-shop.com/ (anywhere in the UK.)

They either subsidise it or sell them wholly at cost, or a mix of the two. They are cheap, and reliable.

3 in 4 people that sign up to Selphi will get the tests, the 1 that doesn't is still offered surveys and is basically the 'control group'. I landed in this group and will still complete the surveys, as it will help them evidence whether to roll it out further in the NHS.

I don't get those options. Just my age and my postcode, before it rejects me.
I used SH:24 they provide free and confidential STI testing that you can access 24 hours a day. We test for: Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Syphilis & HIV. Was simple easy and free. Took about a week if had symptoms they recommend clinics but honestly when I looked was months before could get in. Terrible the underfunding of this service as it saves a fortune in treatments. Partly it's just not enough doctors and nurses. Pay I think is shocking and who wants to do this day in day out if government won't support you.

For some people, buying a HIV home test kit is a reality they live. A free one is something these people would find useful, it saves £30.

BLOODY HELL

bloody bottoms!
1) The testing kit is still available, so I don’t know why it’s been expired.
2) It’s availability isn’t dependent on where you live
3) This kit only requires one small drop of blood, where as the one from www.test.hiv needs you to squeeze out 10 drops!
