If you have concerns about cholesterol have a proper test done by your doctor for free.
These tests are both inaccurate and unnecessary.
Voted cold.
Thanks

Would a GP be happy to do 2 test in 3 weeks just to prove an advert by Benecol ? I know mine wouldn't !
the head advert is a little mislead as "one of the first 1,000 eligible people to sign up"
Thanks
voted cold. marketing ploy and the whole 'saturated fat is bad for you myth' is finally coming to an end. if you have concerns about your health (fat intake) then stopping margarine and anything else with manufactured fats in it is the first step to health.

While you are correct in what you say regarding hydrogenated fats (and I should add sugars) being worse than saturated fats, that's not to say that high cholesterol is not the enemy. Your arteries don't care where it comes from - if cholesterol clogs them up, particularly in the coronary arteries, you'll be in trouble. You don't have to buy into this, I assume, therefore a free testing kit is a good deal.
Geenius

Believing in the ethics of HUKD (posting good deals) i'll just say not everything that's free is a good deal. This is def tainted.

It is not a myth that saturated fat is bad for you. If you have high cholesterol your doctor will tell you to reduce your intake of saturated fat. More specifically you will be told to reduce your consumption of lard, dairy products and fatty red meat. Most people in the western world eat far too much saturated fat. Even those with normal levels of blood cholesterol would do well to limit their intake of saturated fat.

It's too serious a thing to get into to as I'll be witch-hunted for even suggesting that saturated fat is fine. i'll go with a system of dieting that has been around for millennia and you can go for one that has been around for 50 yrs...around about the time they started having giant food corps. This is a good read...and has lots of facts. I'm no expert (like a doctor) so I'll just say...again...this is a bad deal.
just went to sign up, i did, it asked for my postcode, just not my door number ... how to they think they will post it to me if they dont know which house?

My GP was unhappy about asking for a diabeties test despite the NHS running an ad campaign saying I needed to be tested!
