FREE Insurance on Ikea purchases if you are an Ikea Family Member for certain stores

Not sure if anyone knows - as long as you swipe your Family Card when making purchases at Ikea, your products will be insured against accidental damage during the journey home, even if you are taking them home in your car. You are also insured against accidental damage whilst building your items.

A great little extra imho - especially if you sometimes drop and damage large panels and the like.

I've not tried to make use of this offer myself, but spotted it just now, so thought I would share with everyone.

Becoming an Ikea Family member is free (just pick up a card in store)

I have seen that this offer is valid (according to the Ikea website) at these stores:
- Croydon
- Belfast
- Coventry
- Edinburgh
- Gateshead
- Glasgow
- Lakeside
- Leeds
- Milton Keynes
- Nottingham
- Southampton
- Tottenham
- Wales
- Warrington
- Wembley

Each store seems to have a copy of their own (almost identical) T&Cs pdf (Croydon one in first post)

Have some heat, nice little extra from Ikea I reckon
Everytime I've been to Ikea, they've had signs all over the store saying 'don't forget to swipe your card' for this purpose. Not a deal, but a good reminder.
Didn't know this. Thanks OP
I've just realised I didn't even think to get my Family Card out of my wallet last time I was in there. Am going tomorrow so will try to remember for this reason now!
