Free internet radio, for nokia mobile phones (please read to avoid risking high data charges).

FREE INTERNET RADIO FROM NOKIA FOR MANY OF THEIR PHONES.

With Internet Radio you get:

* Automated listing of stations by genre, country, language & popularity.
* Thousands of stations hand picked by Nokia for quality.
* An exceptional listening experience that works over any transport: GPRS, 3G, WLAN.
* Automatically adapted bit rate for optimal listening.
* The freedom to listen without an attached headset.

This works really well - and is considerably cached - so continued to work when I used it driving through a 3/4km tunnel at 30mph without lost of quality.

Its only viable to download and use if you have an inclusive 'unlimited' data package on a 3G connection as I would guess it would be a bit shaky at less (although they claim otherwise), or have a nokia that can use Wifi, and you can use your own router, or a free service such as Fon.

Brilliant selection of channels, and workls without headphones inserted unlike most mobile phone radios (as they use them as the FM aerial).

You can pick stations from around the world, and even specify the language you wish to listen in, which has got to be especially useful for those from outside the UK, or learning a foreign language.

You can also get a cable to plug into the headphone socket, and make it play through the AUX on your car radio.

Best of all - ITS FREE!

Yep, I used someting similar to this last year, and was really pleased with it. Perfect morning radio on a lazy Sunday morning

seems good, is the unlimited data plan expensive?
if free with phone then really a good deal.

Virgin only offer 24meg download for 30p then its on to something like a a couple of quid a meg - so not worth chancing as listening to the radio on a long drive used 70 meg.

It was from three and was about £17.50 for 18 months by the time quidco was factored in.

I cannot find anywhere where it actually lists a limit - but say other limitless packages three had restricted to a gig.

Sadly the phone coverage is pretty dire, and although its meant to flick to the Orange network when there is no signal - it doesn't.

I'm with 3 network and i got unlimited internet that's £5 month and I'm listening this for last 5 months some time 3 to 4hrs a day but thay naver charge me any extra money for internet. that's over 1000 radio stations. I love listening urdu radios there's quite a few and very clear. Thanx h&r added.
