Was looking online for a better free Anti-Virus solution; used AVG and Avast free for years and came across this.

This is for Barclays Online banking customers only and covers PC/Mac and Android mobile or tablet.

barclays.co.uk/Hel…961

Hope it's of use to some

Apologies don't know why the link in the title isn't working so have added the url to the main post; copy and paste into your browser!

Been free via Barclays for years...

IMHO Kaspersky internet security is the best you can get, if you cannot get it free then try ebay as you can get a single license at a fraction of the RRP

Perhaps but it's not a "deal", it's a "freebie" and an existing one...

exactly.... what I mean.... cold from me.... sorry

Kaspersky is generally rated #1, but I used it last year and found it to be very resource hungry.
If you don't want to pay, suggest using Avast free version - does a very good job.

FWIW I recently put Avira free on an old XP machine for a relative and found it also to be very slow. I went for Panda but have also heard recent versions of Avast are recommendable.

Thought bitdefender was up around the top as well.

Nod eset never free. But the best.

Thought it was just kaspersky anti-virus not full security suite

McAfee is free if you bank with HSBC

the Defaults settings on any antivirus needs to be changed, you don't need it to scan files and .Exe programs everytime you access them, so for that for instance can be turned off

Just opened an account , when I seen this on here the last time . So it's helped me , and hopefully it will help someone else who couldn't be annoyed flicking through previous posts.thats what this site IMO is for , helping each other out with a deal of some sort ,and a bit of craic with some of the comments .

I've never knew about this. So voted hot

Yes, it's been free from Barclays for a while now.
That is immaterial. A freebie is still a freebie and I'm sure many people are not aware.

MODS please move this post to Freebies.

i use avast. The best out there for free (avg is pretty damn good too) and neither uses much resource! just stay away from Norton and mcafee, they are useless!

Getting Kaspersky for free is ignorance? Erm....

As this is a freebie, I've moved to freebie.

Been online banking with Barclays for years and had Kaspersky free for about the last 4 or 5 years. Just to add - its a 3 user licence so you can install on 3 pcs.

MSE has gone downhill a bit. KIS15 is superior.

In what way? I'd be surprised if it's as unobtrusive as MSE.

In what way KIS15 superior to MSE? It's unobtrusive, packed with useful features and most importantly, protects against 99% of threats, where as MSE allows PCs to be compromised by 41% of threats.

I'm not denying that it may be better at protecting against viruses but I highly doubt it is as unobtrusive as MSE (I'm using windows 8 mostly anyway with windows defender) I'm careful with what I install and I use adblock, I don't feel I need the added protection. Not saying this isn't a great deal for people who want it, I just don't

John Mcaffe hasn't had anything to do with the anti-virus software for years

I have a different computer now when i tried registering it keeps saying there is an error. Anyone know if there is an email address to query?

Yeah, false sense of security relying on security software whether it is theoretically 99% or 50%. There are security holes. Dedicate one computer for banking activity only as computer is as cheap as a piece of security software, then use another computer(s) with all these internet security tools for general use.

Which OS you are using? Kaspersky Internet Security 2015 - Windows (3 user licences), Kaspersky Internet Security Multi-Device 2015 – for Android (single user licence) and Kaspersky Internet Security for Mac (single user licence).

All queries regarding the software should be directed to Kaspersky Lab support.kaspersky.co.uk

what's even better is that you can renew it after a year for free.

Made up facts are nice to look at...99% vs 41% looks nice but you just made that up.

Have used both Kaspersky desktop and mobile version for last 2 years thanks to Barclays. Mobile version on android has issue of disappearing after some time.

Half asleep........ thought it said Krispy Kreme....... doh oO
