how long is this offer on for? anybody had Tesco kitchens fitted? what's the quality like?

Anyone have any experience of Tesco kitchens?

And free dishwasher and 20 000 club card points

this offers always on but they send you a catalogue to choose a kitchen from - I have yet to find a tesco where they have these kitchens to check out the quality for real

kitchen designer comes to your house to make a plan

any idea on prices? can't find anything

I suspect that the price will have been loaded up front to pay for the fitting

My experience..................

Been looking into getting my kitchen replaced so 2 weeks ago i went into WREN and had someone come round measure up and then design me a kitchen price came in at just under £5k which including fitting but i had to remove the old one and get the tiling done, this also included a new extractor, sink and taps.

Then the day after i got an email from Tesco stating the offer posted here free dishwasher etc. So rang them and they said they send someone round, they said they'd take no longer than 2 hours as they bring a laptop and design it at the same time.

Anyway the bloke turned up, long story short after 3.5 hours he was still there (whilst he was 'designing' it his laptop froze and he lost what he had done) i got the impression he wasn't that good when it came to using a computer as i had to show him how to do trivial things. In the end i said look i'm going out in 15 mins so you'll have to email me the design and quote etc.

4 days later i got the quote................. Wait for it........................Wait for it....................£11,200!! and then he discounted it to £9.5k!! oO
I nearly fell off my chair. This was for virtually the exact same kitchen i'd previously been quoted for and again this did not include the tiling and kitchen removal etc I replied saying don't even bother phoning for a follow up chat as the price is a a joke. Its not as if its some WOW kitchen it was just a white gloss finish with a laminate worktop etc and trust me my kitchen is not large.

So when Tesco say you get 'Free' fitting and a 'Free' dishwasher, no you don't as the price is just added into the equation.

Best installation is from Homebase, they charge but deliver, best personal experience. ..

Cant find any positives reports of Tesco kitchens on the net......

I understand that its actually Mark two trading under the tesco banner. They used to supply kitchens to MFI and Focus..........say no more

Proiblem is its all down to your local branch. They give the work out to local fitters on a sub-contract basis and pay rock bottom prices. If you get a good fitter all well and good, but you could by from another homebase and get a poor fitter

we had a tesco kitchen installed back in July this year. We've had sooo many problems and its still not finished! I would go else where. very over priced for what you get and the quality of workmanship isn't great either! Biggest mistake I ever made was letting the salesman walk through my front door!! It isn't actually tesco its mark two and the customer service is rubbish no one wants to deal with your call or phone back when there are problems. the fitters just want to get in do the job and go.
My advice would be find a local tradesman using check a trade at least you can see reviews.
Yes we did get a free dishwasher and so called free fitting but I think its worked into thw price anyway.
We spent sooo much money on our kitchen and I just cry every time I think about it!

the prices that people are stating are crazy cant beat howdens im in the trade and for £3000 you would get a quite large kitchen fitted and of good spec

The amount of people I've heard say Howdens, it must be right.

Why are Tesco doing kitchens? They're not doing themselves any favours. They're making it look like they're hell bent on getting their tentacles on literally everything you ever want to purchase. Buy 'n' Large from Wall-E, anyone?

Why the hell would tesco allow them to put kitchens in there stores the commission tesco earns won't justify losing the space for its own goods

with the markup they're obviously doing, it'd be well worth it!

Went to get a quote... guys car 'broke down' (it was a Sunday, hmm suspicious!) never heard from Tesco again, a bit strange since they had been on the phone half a dozen times to confirm.
Anyway, they said around £7k for an average size. We were also quoted £8.2k from homebase and £5.2k from Ikea (includine 1200 electrical work) so when we have money we're sticking to ikea!

Contact the CEO's, either Mr Philip Clarke, Chief Executive philip.clarke@uk.tesco.com or Tesco Direct, Neela Mukherjee Director neela.mukherjee@uk.tesco.com.

Don't let them get away with shoddy work, contact the above and they will put their minions on to it for you and get everything sorted, you can then request money back

Avoid Tesco Kitchens. Nothing to do with Tescos really. We were quoted £14,000 for our kitchen! By the end of the visit the guy had "discounted" it to £7,000 and he still said that there was room for further discount ! Their "free" appliances are tat. The guy was trying to get me to sign up there and then. No confidence in them. Loads of horrific reviews too.

howdens or magnets are best all round. If you know anyone who is trade magnets and howdens knock about 75% off the price and the units come ready built. You should get even a good sized kitchen done for 3k

I find it amazing that there are so many people recommending Howdens when there are plenty of places that will beat them on quality and price. The place I use routinely undercut Howdens prices by at least 33% and that's direct to consumers not even trade. The trade discounts are even greater. Email me if anyone wants any details, they're a local company based near Bristol but they deliver countrywide.

I agree. Try comparisons with Stilhaus kitchens. Reviews suggest they can be up to 35% cheaper and their fitting service, as indicated on stilhaus kitchens reviews website, can also be cheaper. B&Q are cheaper than Tesco for the actual kitchen but the fitting service is phenominally expensive. Also, the Stilhaus Kitchens reviews site shows that they rate 8.4 out of 10, while B&Q only rate a 1.9! Tesco don't fare a lot better. Don't just take the Stilhaus Kitchens reviews site's word for it either, take a look at trustpilot or review centre.

I've been looking around for kitchens and kitchen installers. I have been recommended both Tesco and Howdens but am still looking around as it have time on my side.

I was wondering LeeJS, could you pm me your recommendation as I'm Bristol based and am intrigued by your information.

Thanks.
