Closure of Clubcard TV

Clubcard TV closing on 28th October
We have taken the decision to close the Clubcard TV service, which means that unfortunately you won’t be able to watch the library of movies and TV on the service from 28th October. Until then everything will carry on as normal, so there’s still time to finish off a series or catch a movie.

Why is this service closing?
We’ve learnt a lot since launching Clubcard TV in March 2013 and whilst many enjoyed our free service, we weren’t getting the level of repeat usage we had hoped for. You can still access entertainment through blinkbox Movies which offers the latest blockbuster films and hit TV shows without subscription. You can rent or buy and watch instantly on loads of devices.

What will happen to the Clubcard TV app on my Android tablet?

From 28th October, the app will stop working. If you’d like to, you’ll be able to uninstall the app. There’s some information on how to do that here

How else can Clubcard customers benefit from blinkbox?

While we’re no longer offering Clubcard TV, you’ll still be able to earn Clubcard points on purchases from blinkbox Movies.

Well Blinkbox is owned 80% by Tesco anyways [it has a bloody awful interface though] so I cant see why they ran two services with the same aim....

This "Clubcard TV" was "powered by Blinkbox" anyway... Though they're two completely different models.... Blinkbox you buy the movies etc. whereas Clubcard TV was free movies/TV shows, so I can see why they'd want to separate it... Although the selection is very poor so I can see why they're closing it

iv got this email too. my unique code ends with 470

Got one, ta. Wouldn't have spotted it in the email otherwise so thanks for posting!

Not yet seen an email for this in the account we used for clubcard TV.

The code is for a maximum of £4.49, so you can rent an HD movie (new release £3.49 + HD £1)

I've not had the email either

Just got my email - my code ends in 470 too but the start looks quite random so 470 is probably an identifier for the offer and it really is personalised

just got my code cheers OP!

Got my code too. I had just gone onto club card tv and not long after I got the email.

No code for rental
