I've lost some parts from a large lego set i was building and contacted lego customer services - they directed me to this site!

Type the model number in the box and Select your part(s)

Ideal for lost, broken or missing parts.

I spoke to an agent earlier and explained 7451 pieces were missing from this. They sorted it immediately.32420746-bdsNU.jpg

Great for genuine lost parts upsetting small children.

Not great for people trying to get free stuff through fraud.

Don't know how many times I have seen this poster on here. Surprised anyone doesn't know about it and if you have missing pieces from a new set shouldn't the company replace the parts anyway? Voted cold as it isn't a deal

This has been on their website for long time. It’s fantastic if people don’t know about it. Its only free if its damaged/missing from a new box.

I've used this recently, how did you get them for free? Postage was £2 and I spent £8 in pieces.

Might be the official line, but i think i had lost one of the bricks and they were happy to replace - no p&p charges either (although might be down to the rep you speak to!)

I just used it 10 mins ago actually. 2 parts missing from a new set, but I was able to cobble something together for now.

I selected 'missing bricks' and there was no p&p fees (rep told me to do this even though i lost the piece).

I messaged a few months back about some links I lost from a watch. I bought the watch in 2006 and they still sent the parts, no proof of purchase needed!

They may ask for a code on the Building Instruction which they use as proof of purchase, and as already mentioned this is for new purchases that have missing or damaged pieces in the set

This was probably just the standard pick a brick section and not the missing brick section!

That happens alot, had a few sets with missing pieces!
Used this because son lost his Iron Man face for the helmet and they happily replaced, also for the watch, son broke it at school and they directed to another link and replaced!

Or large children even. The three of us have a combined age of 132 and we were pretty miffed that our Winter Train build ground to a halt because of two tiny missing pieces Luckily wisdom through age saved the day - that, a Dremel and a couple of spare pieces from another set.........

Agreed about trying to get free bricks for free. That's not what it's for. Not sure how they would be about retired sets that haven't been opened with missing pieces. Haven't had to do that yet.

Gutted they cant get set 6086 back up. Got a few bits missing as its 25 years old.

Does anyone know how to request a missing minifig base plate? It says they don't replace parts from blind bags as they "don't know what's inside" but that seems a bit of a cop-out. Is there a numbered set which includes one so that I can request it?

They wont replace individual pieces from a blind bag... theyll just send another complete blind bag.

cue lots of greedy brick collectors getting lego ban.

I think we have two or three pieces missing from all our sets. Annoying thing is the pieces that are missing are different everyday.

I had a Han Solo minifigure (which I lost) sent for the second oldest falcon. So yes as long as they still have the parts - no problem. However, after using the service 3 times for free, I then have been asked to pay for parts and postage. Good luck!

Minifigs are mostly out of stock coz theres loads of idiots who abuse the system and sell them on ebay :\

Ive had few cracked minifigs that i couldnt replace for my son

I think because they see Lego as "indestructible” they will also replace broken parts even if it's not a new box, and they're pretty sympathetic to kids with missing pieces too.

I imagine they check your login (or address) to ensure you aren't taking advantage.

This service definitely helps to justify the high price of Lego though. I was amazed when they just posted out replacement pieces completely free of charge!

be careful abusing the service, i done 3 orders of 3/4 'missing/broken' bricks at a time for the ones i had lost (they didnt offer the particular bricks i needed for a purchase option..i didnt mind paying but needed these bricks), i then got blocked from lego a few weeks later (the actual whole lego site-even if paying for bricks) for abusing the free service

Can't believe how expensive Lego has become!

Thanks for posting. Bookmarked for future use.

Be careful as LEGO often ask for a receipt for the original set and could ban you from their site if you can't provide one. They do random checks and I've been questioned twice this year. Of course, if you sell a set on eBay that has missing pieces, LEGO will NOT accept this request from an eBay buyer. Make sure you have extra sets in stock to split open and send the parts out yourself. This is why selling LEGO on eBay is just a waste of time, money and effort. Cooling added as this link is open to abuse.

Didn't know about this, superb. Thank you OP

I've 8258 and the battery pack has stopped working, have requested replacement. May dig out the codes for some pneumatic stuff where the tubing no longer holds air sufficiently on 8455.

It's always been a thing. They would rather replace a missing piece than an entire set.

Was good when I had two missing pieces from the VW Camper Heat added!

got a despatch email on my missing bricks - should be here tomorrow apparently.

Great service too!

The pieces are never missing, just some careless idiots losing them. Can't be arsed grubbing around on the floor looking so expect a free gold plated replacement from Lego. Makes it more expensive for the rest of us that take care of our bits 😔

Wow - a bit of a sweeping statement. I did lose a few pieces but i wouldn't class myself as an idiot for doing so. I also doubt my replacement bricks will be made of gold either (skeptical).

I just think Lego are offering great customer service and they wouldn't offer it if they didn't think it wasn't needed.

Hes wrong anyway, ive nearly got the full starwars set for my son, finally got the deathstar for xmas this year and ive had MANY MANY boxes with missing bits, normally you can use a random spare part but ive had missing key bits which i cant even move on unless i get it...

The reason why they are so expensive is due to adults collecting them and selling them years later when they are end of line.

£75 for the new justice league set and that is on sale... i mean wtf?

The deathstar is a huge set but £400 for lego bits? im getting sick of it but lego are the only toys around these days, theres nothing else.

Imaginext is dead he has everything they do and playmobil are more flimsy than lego, i got the full indian and cowboy set and its all in bits now, the police station was good but to play inside the houses was a pain for him and it fell to bits too.

Original Poster

glad to see people still play with lego - like you say sooooo many collectors who just keep them boxed up trying to make a profit in years to come, which in effect drives the prices up for the kids who just want to build and play!
