Free life saving app (Android, iOS or Blackberry) from St Johns Ambulance

I posted this a while ago, it has appeared since but not for a while so thought it was time it was advertised again. It's a really useful app and may save someones life one day!
The main link is for Android, there are links below for Apple and Blackberry.

St John Ambulance is determined that no one should die because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.
This app includes the latest first aid advice and protocols for dealing with emergency situations. It is simple to follow with illustrated guides and voiced instructions.

The app doesn’t replace the benefits of learning first aid on a St John Ambulance course, nor is it as in depth as a full first aid manual. But when there is an emergency, it will help you to know what to do to in those few crucial moments when basic knowledge of first aid can make the difference.

Nothing is more tragic than a life lost needlessly. You can be the difference between life and death.

Please note: The first aid advice is based solely upon UK protocols. Both the UK and European emergency service numbers are provided.

A worthy repost.

Thanks! It looks a bit lazy reposting some of my old items but the ones I chose (I felt) were worthy of a repost!

Even if it helps one person it’s done the job. Good app to have on your phone !
If it doesn't save my life, am I able to claim compo?
My partner went on a first aid course last week and the women doing the course recommend that everyone on the course install this app as it has so much useful and lifesaving information on it and even said that she could learn more from the app than the first aid course itself.

If this is reposted a 100x who cares if it saves even just 1 life.

Here have some heat! =)

I understand yours was a joke but that is the reason why so many people dont attempt 1st aid
Thanks OP. I have not seen the St John s app posted before. I agree this can be reposted and should be.

The redcross link goes to their web page but their app page does not work / load for me.

No, but if someone treats you correctly and saves your life with CPR (will almost certainly break a couple of ribs doing compressions....80% chance) then you can sue them! or at least that used to be the case when I did Red Cross (years ago) - insurance was a must!

Our terrible "where there's blame, there's a claim" culture. It does my head in.

That's not our culture, it's America's!
Thank you very much

Bull **** no one has ever been sued for using first aid a couple of cracked ribs are better than brain damage due to oxygen starvation or even death, your not doing it right if you dont pop a few ribs

But what if you get the app, don`t look at it till an event occurs, then do it wrong? (Don`t panic, don`t panic....)

Does this include any info on removing a barbie doll shoved firmly up the rectum?.......... asking for a friend
So if someone is having a heart attack I have to unlock my phone, check my texts (everyone checks their texts first), open the app, search for cpr, then read up on it? Life saver.
Do the Red Cross do first aid differently? If there’s an accident do you toss a coin as to which one to open?
Both St John Ambulance and red Cross use the same manual so I reckon you're good with either app.

But I like the St John one more.
The Red Cross has training material and pop quizzes, which I won't want if I am in a hurry and panicking. It's also a much bigger size in terms of storage on your device, where as St John is less than 10Mb
This is an amazing app. I'm a first aider for my work place and have used this a couple of times. It's so easy to use.
Great app. Thanks OP.
