1. The LIME Energy Saving Plug (rrp £19.99)
This intelligent plug switches appliances off standby (and on again) at one easy click of a button and is very simple to install. Households in the UK now spend around 10% of their electricity bill on standby power, with the average household having up to 12 gadgets left on standby at any one time. (source: Energy Saving Trust). Leaving items on standby wastes energy and money, so start thinking 'savings' not 'standby' with a free LIME energy saving plug and you could save up to £20 on your energy bills.

2. The Water Widget (rrp £11.75)
The Water Widget takes less than 5 minutes to fit. By reducing the water flow through your shower head and by introducing air at high pressure through its patented technology, you don't even notice the pressure difference but you will notice the savings! It reduces the amount of water used by up to 70%. For an averaged sized 3 bedroom house this could result in a saving of up to £80 off your annual bill.

Offer ends 31st December 2010 so register now!

I use my LIME Energy Saving Plug behind the computer, so when I've closed the computer down I can cut the power too, to the monitor, printer, computer, external hard drive and speakers, using one of the buttons on my TV remote.

Saves having to climb through the computer desk to reach the socket

Probably doesn't save very much electricity, but i prefer things off, then on during the night

This has been on here before and funnily enough it just arrived today. Great freebie - thanks for posting!

Thanks

Received mine last week.

thanks sent for mine

sent for this product twice already but never recieved 1 .

Got it previously - nice and handy

Sorry to be a cynic, but I've got an energy meter and I have tested the energy use of various appliances on standby around the home, not one of them registered over 1 Watt. Even if we scale this up to millions of people, we are hardly talking about saving the planet here. If anything, I suspect the manufacture and distribution costs of these items actually add far more to global warming than leaving the TV on standby!

PS. No criticism of you, op, but the statistic you quote of householders in the UK spending 10% of their electric bill on appliances on standby is unsubstantiated scare-mongering nonsense of the highest order, put out by people with an agenda and just not challenged.

Same here. I get the needed benefits to qualify but nothing. Unsure if I should apply again as it may seem greedy despite not getting it. Would like the plug item to for the TV set up.

Thank you, good for connecting the Xmas Lights to - heat added.

Agree 100%

I have a prepayment meter and can see exactly how much actual money I'm spending each day.

I've done experiments with everything turned off over night inc microwave clock and cooker clock,

and everything how I usually leave them. 2 TV's on standby, 2 xbox 360's one original PS3, one Wii on standby, printer on permanently, router and cable modem on permanently, sat top box on standby, surround sound system on standby, cooker clock on, microwave clock on, all 3 portable phone handsets plugged in etc etc etc.

Absolutely zero noticeable difference over a week

Yeah, I've applied several times and never got one, although I qualify. I wonder, given that this is a "government initiative", whether the company is getting money from the government and just collecting our details so they can claim we were supplied with these energy saving devices (even though we haven't been)?

I've emailed them several times but they never respond. It makes me suspicious that they are harvesting our data and just giving out the occasional device.
