Uber Eats has launched and they are doing a promotion where you get £10 off your bill.. I'm having a burger delivered right now! There is no minimum charge, obviously if you pick something more than £10 you pay the difference... Just add the code "UBEREATSLONDON" when you check out on the phone app.

It seems to have been running for a while now and doesn't seem to mention any deadline so you should be good for a friday treat

Giving this some heat!

Once you add the coupon code, you add your location and then it will come up with a list of places you can order from... you then just choose your order... For example I ordered a burger from Patty & Bun...

https://s3.postimg.org/57cgq6srn/Screenshot_20160817_122259.png

It will then ask you for your credit card details to store on the app and then when you go to checkout if will show you that the discount as been applied.

This code doesn't stack with the friend referral code, but you can use one on another order for another free lunch,or doughnuts from Crosstown

i think they prefer you wait outside for your order anyway so might be OK. I'd probably use a smaller location if I was you to be sure you find the driver

I just took a delivery outside Hamleys. He had to ring as app just gave him regent st as the address. No photo, so he rang again when he was standing next to me as he was looking for me in the shop. Not the best system, but I'm loving my free dinner

Multi nationals like Uber are competing unfairly with hard working taxi drivers by siphoning profits to tax havens and thus avoiding paying for the roads they use and the fair amount of tax every other taxi pays. Basically getting a subsidy from our government to destroy the livelihoods of thousands. The destruction of tax paying taxi drivers careers is not worth £3 lunch in Tesco. People need to look around them and care about the society they live in, not just for themselves, but for the next generation who will live in a bankrupt economy or an economy that favours the 1% - multi nationals over young people's life prospects.

To be fair this problem of multi nationals crippling the small and medium sized businesses (back bone of the economy) is down to our government allowing the loopholes. But people need to speak up more theguardian.com/wor…nce

If you have a choice, which you do, make it a choice that benefits society

Uber drivers work hard and pay road tax. What do you think they would be doing if Uber didn't exist? If they could earn more elsewhere, they would. Anything that gives them a chance sounds like something that benefits society.

Taxi's do nothing but drive up and down polluting the roads and wasting the environments, hence why Oxford St and the surrounding area is 3,000 times the EU legal limit...
All they have done is outpriced themselves out of the market so much that they can't compete anymore... It's called innovation.. No one makes you get an Uber

You could say the same for any job in this life. Until the time nobody needs to work or we run our manufacturing and travel on renewables we will have pollution. Thus you cannot blame the taxi rivers for satisfying a requirement for commuters to get around. You can make a consumer decision that Uber doesn't take 20% off the drivers income, plus siphoning profits to tax havens, plus destroying the career for thousands by deciding to boycot Uber

Those workers you talk of could be working for a taxi firm that does not incentivise competition for a wage to the bottom and the taxi rank pays the correct amount of tax like everyone else. taxi ranks do not siphon profits to tax havens and they support the infrastructure they use on a daily basis. That is what you call fair capitalism

No, that's what YOU call fair capitalism, I call it simple Luddite-ism. Traditional taxis were just a monopoly that needed breaking. We don't need drivers to train for years to get "the knowledge" any more. We have google maps. It's called progress.

How do you know where taxi drivers send their profits?! If Uber drivers could work for a firm that paid higher wages, I'm sure they would. Uber drivers provide a decent service for a fair price. Not sure why you think you should be the moral arbiter.

So you think small and medium sized businesses should pay tax and multinationals deserve to be subsidised and pay very little at the expense of the tax payers. Taxi ranks are not monopolies. It's companies like this that will destroy the economy

No, I think all companies should pay tax fairly. It's up to the government to make that happen. If they fail to do that, you can hardly blame people for taking advantage of the loopholes. I certainly wouldn't voluntarily pay more tax than I had to.

Your anger should be directed at the government, not entrepreneurs who take advantage of the government's mistakes or those who work for them, or their customers.

Completely agree with you that we are losing billions in tax revenues because of the greed and negligence from this government. It's important people speak up about the injustices of capitalist system

We aren't "losing millions" - we never had or were entitled to that money. And if it is a problem, it's not a problem with capitalism - it's a problem with rubbish lawmakers.

Hmm...just got round to trying this, it accepted the code...so hoped I'm within the area but when I've added my stuff it still has normal price. tried adding the code again, says its added. is it meant to show the reduced price before you enter card details. presuming so, so not entering my card. Sad now... wanted burger and onion rings :-(

We are losing billions, not millions to profits being siphoned off to tax havens. Capitalism is part and parcel of many factors, including government non intervention. Austerity is only something that was brought in because of so called debt, so yes it is our money as tax pays for all our public services, and if the NHS is being short changed because there is not enough money in the pot, it's because our government is negligent enough to allow multi nationals to get off with tax, while small and medium sized businesses have to compete on this unfair playing ground where they are down by 20% competitiveness (as they have to pay tax) , before they start trading. It's wrong and is not how capitalism and tax is supposed to work.

Yes austerity is ideological and most economists argue that austerity creates more debt for a country. The only way out of debt is to invest and the proof is in the pudding. Austerity has failed to reduce the country's debt. We are in a deeper hole than when Austerity started.
