Free match day ticket for unemployed supporters

Saw this on Twitter so thought I'd share incase it helps anyone.

Celtic are offering their unemployed supporters a free match day ticket for the upcoming game against Ross County on the 27th of December.

To collect the ticket you have to go in person to the ticket office from Monday (15th) onwards with the relevant documentation to prove you are unemployed.

Excellent gesture from the club to help those who cannot afford to attend the ever increasing price of football matches these days.

Please don't be childish enough to vote this cold because you "don't like Celtic".

I know it isnt a suitable deal for everyone but for those who it can help it is a fantastic offer.

This is a great deal. But what about the people who work hard but cant afford the ticket prices how come just unemployed people get the privalige. People who are unemployed and can cant help it and wanna work this isnt aimed at them at all but why should the lazy people who cant be bothered who get everything for nothong get the privelage of more free stuff. What about us hard working people

I agree. Plenty of hard working people who can't afford the £300+ season ticket. But like you said i think the idea behind it is to help those who are really struggling and can't get any work at all.

Nope, voted cold, get a job or give everyone free tickets.

Fair comment. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Like I said, I'm just sharing incase it helps anyone at all.

Should be a first come first served give everyone a chance employed people seem to get punished for working hard. Not voting cold this is a great deal just shame not for all

Great idea wish other clubs would do this, rather have a full house cheering on the team than a half empty stadium.

Not everyone who is unemployed is lazy. How do you know someone hasn't recently lost their job? Or they're unfit for work?

Love how people just assume the unemployed are all just lazy layabouts!!

For the record I work full time so this deal wouldn't apply to me but it's still hot.

Grear idea
clubs should always do something for the supporters.
half the free tickets too uemployed
half free tickets to paying suporters
or all to the kids future supporters

totally agree

Great idea - also agree that kids/schools should be given tickets but don't know how easy it would be for the schools to arrange transport for all the kids etc and the implications of the 'field trip'

Was this on the official celtic twitter?. Can you share a link??

haven't the unemployed suffered already without putting them through Scottish football game

So how are the unemployed outwith the local area going to be able to afford to go to the ticket office and back in the first place ?

Sometimes you just can't win...

I don't really get it, does watching a football match help someone get a job?

made my **** blood boil this!!! i got paid on friday and have 100 quid to last me til the 15th january! i do 50 - 60 hours per week,
just been off work with bronchitus and got prescripted chest steroids, antibiotics and an inhalor - could only afford 2 of the items (8 quid per item) then some dolite tells me how he gets them for free!

then again, well done op for posting, its the game im blaming, not the player!

At least 50.000 people are queuing up around the ground already with sleeping bags, and tents pitched up its going to be like black Friday at the local asda all over again oO

You got paid on Fri.... You have a ton left. You must be below minimum wage...possibly...or maybe really bad with money!!

jonnytutin

"There" please defy

Surely a better idea would be to pass all those extra tickets out to the local schools?

What about all the cross-eyed celtic fans........... or isn't it worth giving them a ticket as they're all dafties ?

On the unemployed scene, try visiting a few faded seaside resorts where you'll find tons of unemployed people who go there simply because there's no work - all they want to do is sit on the dole and take whatever stuff they're into. Before you say it's a generalisation and not true..... go and chat to the hard working locals who know exactly what's become of their once thriving towns. Places like Girvan, Troon, Dunoon, Rothesay etc - all have so called footie fans who don't want to work (as well as those who do, of course).

And I like noble...... Mark noble.... wooooowww........

month before xmas wipes me clean year in year out! one day il think of saving all year round! i say every year im not spending much! never happens!

''Their hands'' perhaps ?

everyone should get this just because you are unemployed is not fair. Some employed people struggle to put food on the table. heat added as the deal itself is good.

kamenitzabrit

''Their hands'' perhaps ?

Correct. However... I made my point. It's not a flicking grammar lesson. Perhaps, perhaps should have started with a capital p. Perhaps.
