I like that thinking 😁

That’s awesome... do you have to pay for that going forward...?
I prefer blissful ignorance!
They only want to send you needless messages to worry you into spending large amounts of money, that's why they fit it free!

No, the old cars don't really tell you a lot and, unless I'm mistaken, it's really just a bluetooth ODB reader that broadcasts a few bits of data that the app translates into something more useful. I'm only really interested in checking the fuel level so I know if I need to plan a fuel stop, mind you that's always a yes with an old V8

The newer cars add all sorts of fancy services that do cost money.

I bet I paid less for my SLK convertible than you paid for your car.
These are a waste of time, I put one on my previous older SLK and ended up taking it out again.
Pointless
I have one fitted by Mercedes which I didnt ask for. I’ve never activated it as some functions you pay
for
What does this actually do?

I have this on my CLA (built in as its new). It simply shows you stats of the car, so fuel levels, brake fluid level, washer level, if the tyres need air etc and lets me lock/unlock my car remotely. Also you can send an address to your navigation before you enter the car. Not sure if all of this can be done with older cars but it’s the same concept

Are you paying for the service? I have the app but not the paid service and it gives tells me the vehicle registration number and the milage I've driven.

Nope, I only paid a one off fee of around 60 for certain features. The rest is free and no reoccurring payments
I have a C220 and it came with, not aware of any charge for the service but it has handy features like telling you if the doors are unlocked or if the batteries going flat (don't ask!) Can remote unlock/lock, geofence etc.
Right, sorted, just need a Mercedes now
I only ever listen to the engine in mine
It's not great. Got this on Friday last week fitted to '63 c220. Unplugged it Tuesday. Destroyed phone battery 13% in half a day. You don't get any of the cool features, remote lock, door/window status. Only how much fuel is in the car, where it was last parked and, of more use to MB, when your next service is due.

Ah wish this applied to smart cars

Same here with my new A class, unpaid I think you need to pay extra to unlock the other features.
Of to collect mine today. Considering my car only cost me £1,700 then any sort of smart capability is a little bonus.

This offer is still on, just booked my 2012 in for the adapter on the 16th Feb, and the offer is still on, it's still free.
