St Helens and Lea Green stations are in Merseyside but not on the list
They are not on the Merseyrail network unfortunately, probably would be running a better service than now if they were.

We have to make do with Northern and Transpennine.

I mean what was the point in electryfying the line to run less trains?

No strikes on Merseyrail either, I think I'm right in saying, they agreed a sensible pay deal earlier this year. (edited)
Your right in saying they aren't run by the department for transport and therefore have a pay deal. Similar to metrolink, scotrail, transport for wales, hull trains and more.
Also, train companies run by the DfT haven't even been given a pay offer.
    Please do some research.

    - 2 adults + 3 children = ? (edited)
Not exactly sure of your point. But if we assume that adult fares are twice a kid’s fare we could rearrange the formula to say
    -4 kids + 3 kids = x
Which gives us the answer 1 kid.
Maybe that’s helped answer your query :-)

Of course if you are concerned about equations you might have a problem with the age that children are defined as:
    Aged 5-15 years … so 5 - 15 = -10 years.

Oh dear sometimes maths doesn’t help in the real world ;-)

Could you use a family ticket even if only 1 adult?
Was wondering about that too, with me there would only be 2 adults using it - will have to look at the T's & C's if I'm lucky to get a ticket.
