Free Microsoft HTML5 With Javascript and CSS3 Exam (70-480) Worth £99

This won't be in everyone's interest but a very good offer for people who are into the whole Windows 8 app development or HTML5 with JS/CSS3 in general.

Use code : HTMLJMP for a free exam credit and there're plenty exam venues to choose across the UK, the exam will normally cost £99.

After passing 70-480, you will be given a certification for Microsoft Specialist and this is one of the three exams which will ultimately certify you as MCSD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer). MCSD is one tier above MCSA (Associate) and is a respectable title in the field of web development.

Exam registration: microsoft.com/lea…480

Link for free online training: microsoftvirtualacademy.com/tra…943

Link to MCSD page: microsoft.com/lea…spx

This offer is available for a limited time only..

On prometric, choose schedule an exam and then pick Microsoft -> Microsoft (070, 071....) -> 070-480

For your info the other 2 exams are shown here:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/cert-mcsd-web-applications.aspx

They are:
70 - 486 - Developing ASP.NET MVC 4 Web Applications
70 - 487 - Developing Windows Azure and Web Services

Both £99.

Is this a multiple choice exam or a written code exam?

Great freebie.

Word of warning to those of you who have never sat one of these Microsoft exams before though. If you don't do it exactly as the system wants you too, it affects your exam score. There are obviously more than one way to skin a cat, especially in an area like this. What I am saying is just don't expect to be able to blag the exam, even if you are very confident with HTML5/CSS3 etc - take a bit of time to actually go through the Microsoft materials. Trust me, take it from someone who has sat these exams before.

Voted HOT. Great find.

Definitely take the time to go through the Microsoft materials though.

Thanks,should be useful

Best freebie I've seen in a while, thanks!

Wow, this is sweltering!! HOT!

Nice

Brilliant offer, thanks OP.

Just a couple of questions - can this be done online or does it need to be done at a test center? The centers are all miles away from me - so hoping it can be done online. Can anyone shed some more light onto how this works? Thanks

Bah! you can't do it online, or not that I can see. Anyone else confirm this?
I don't drive so donno if there is anywhere close to me

^ It has to be done at a test center.

Haha yeh if it was an online exam there would definitely be a market for gurus to set up shop batch exam taking for people to get them the certificates

Here is what I found from Microsoft website:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/certification/exam-prep.aspx#tab2

Q: Can I find out which testing formats and question types will be used in the exam I'm taking?

A: No. Microsoft does not identify the testing formats or question types of any exam at the time of registration because we continually introduce innovative testing technologies and question types. Both practices help us maintain exam security and the value of Microsoft Certifications.

To get a feel for the testing formats and question types that might be on the exam, we encourage you to review our item type tutorial and/or take practice tests offered through Microsoft Certified Practice Test Providers.

Is this any use for learning HTML and CSS for web design? I've no interest in developing for Windows 8.

70-480 itself doesn't have much to do with developing for windows 8 but more focused on general web dev with HTML5/JS/CSS3, I guess many people hold different options on windows 8's future but there aint much doubt that html5 with javascript is the future for the web

Excellent going to check this out. Heat added.

HOT!

Can anyone see a list of venues? Looks interesting to me but only if I can take the exam somewhere close.

Never mind, can be found by going through the registration process. 97 locations in the UK found.

Booked for December. Not sure how i'll fair been a couple of years out of the Game But hey ho we'll have a look. Should be good.

Matt

Thanks, looks good!

MCSD is one tier above MCSA (Associate)

MCSD and MCSA are completely different career paths.
I've done a lot of microsoft exams myself and they're all taken at prometric test centres. Don't go in thinking you can wing it, you need to know the microsoft way of doing things to be able to pass the exams.

Good find though, heat added.

WOW! Many thanks! Already booked for a December exam.

Thanks. That's me booked mine up too.
