Don't all of the above also pay taxes !
And whilst you are probably hard at work in the office the teachers are hard at work teaching your kids and the military/soldiers are out risking their lives to protect you and the Doctors and Nurses are waiting to treat you whilst getting abuse and lack of respect by stupid comments like yours....
Oh and they are all doing that AND paying taxes !

you're probably on the dole
It is not entirely free. Organisations pay for the service. If you are lucky enough, yours might be one of them. You can install office on multiple PCs. Heat added for the reminder.

They may well be, but they're jobs they've chosen to do, no-one's forced them into it. They're just doing their job which is what most people do.

I fail to see how you arrived at that conclusion. Care to explain?
You know what - TOUGH.... if your not able to make use of this then move along and don't make stupid comments because you cant get it and others can.... A LOT of freebies have some restrictions on them.
I hope your not one of these hypocritical trolls who moans because they cant get this offer but is getting some form of benefits either from the government or work place or union

Now if only there was something similar to office for free for everyone to use that would be amazing

Seriously nobody in there right mind would be on Dole Pineapples.
So, the organisation pays for it so that its members can get it cheap/free; this can be companies too.

In fairness to the OP, they only said students & teachers, nothing about other walks of life; the idea for the software provider is that they can get you hooked into their product, which you then take with you out into your eventual workplace.

However, I do think it's a bit lame having a post on one money saving site just linking to another money saving site's advice, rather than a real link to a genuine offer.

Let me guess, you've never been a student, worked as a teacher, soldier or in the NHS.

It's a business, how are they supposed to continue by not making any money?
There's also many free alternatives to office, no ones forcing you to use office..

If Microsoft choose to give software aware to certain groups, that's their right and what has paying tax got to do with it? Everyone pays tax in one form or another. By your reasoning MS should give this away to everyone. Who will then pay the wage bill for the software developers?

The delivery vehicle for free services for tax payers is called public services, like, NHS, free to taxpayers at the point of need. On the other hand, when it is privatised, that there could be free services for students, teachers, soldiers, NHS workers....
I've tried it but Microsoft claims it does not recognise my details yet its all correct. has anyone been successful and how did they do it?
This doesn't seem to work for bank staff or NHS workers anymore only students! Any more info please? Cheers

It depends if your school is registered. I have been successful and so have others I know, but I also know some who weren't
