We all need to check our credit report.

But why pay when you can get Noddle free for life?

Noddle – the only genuinely free credit report on the market. Save over £80 a year compared to competitor products.

I personally stopped using these a few years ago when I moved house because I know as soon as I put my details on one of those sites every debt collector in the country will know I'm alive and start gathering outside my front door with a battering ram . Heat given though as these sites can be useful.

Have been using Noddle a while, only problem is they have to make there money through selling extra products and I am constantly receiving advertising emails :-(

You can change the settings in the control panel of your account and un-tick all email marketing options... I joined months ago and have never had any emails at all... its easy enough to find just navigate around your account settings and the email marketing boxes are in there.

Just signed up Thanks, I did make sure i ticked the boxes NO third parties or emails.

I use this and have nothing but praise for them.

I just started to fill the online form but when it comes to asking about credit card details I can understand it asking for the card number and expiry date but why does it need the security number as well.... isn't just the card number and name sufficient to check your credit history...... I normally give the security details when I am purchasing something...

PS I am on the card details page and haven't clicked on submit yet I am waiting for some viable reason apart from I have been with then since 2011 when they launched their business.

And it being free apart from trying to sell you other packages does it bombard you with 3rd party adverts....

Do you not bother to read earlier comments?

I don't have a credit card so it will not let me apply. Not every one has a credit card.

I was a little sceptical, BUT.. this is a great site! If you just want to know whether lenders trust you or not before you apply for something you can find out here. Easy to use. :-)

Sorry if it's a noob question, but will it let you sign-up if you only have a debit card?

Didn't let me.

You also need to be on the electoral roll. I had the same problem until I registered with my local council. Although not a new freebie, this is a great website to see where you stand in the land of credit rating. For those that haven't done it yet, don't forget Equifax and Credit Expert give cashback through Quidco or TopCashBack; just don't forget to cancel before the trial ends (free money).

To much information we have to give.
They don't really need to do any work collecting all tat data... we are giving them all!
Crazy!

It didn't work on my debit card or one of my credit cards but did another credit card. Its funny how a debt buyer can put a default on a loan in 2011 and the loan was from 2006 when I have not spoken or had anything from them since then and when I checked two months ago it was on 2011 but now I have just checked with Noddle the default is now January 2014 how is that possible definitely worth getting this.

If you have defaulted on a credit card it will stay on your profile for a set number of years from the date that you close that credit card account.

E.g. if you default on a card in 2005 and just leave the card active until 2014 with a £0 balance then the 5 year period will start in 2014. It makes sense to pay off and close accounts where you default on a payment and it shows up on your account.

Dont do it if you have any debt its just so they have info on you

Seems OK had all cc and balances Useful

Been using this for a year or so. Very good site.

Decent service for free, been a member since it first started.

Remember that this only provides your CallCredit credit report - possibly [source required] the smallest & least used of the 3 big players; Experian, Equifax and CallCredit. As such, if you are having issues getting credit and all looks good on Noddle, you may still want to get your report from the others just in case... Mistakes can happen!

Worth noting that the score is pretty worthless and the important thing is that the content of the report is accurate.

A visa debit card worked for me.

A great site. My only issue with it if there is a change in your 1-5 score, there is not reason available. You need to read deep into your data to identify a change from one month to the next.

So do they sell your info in return for the service ?

Utter rubbish. A default stays on your credit report six years from the date it was placed. E.g default in 2005 and it's off in 2011. The date the account is closed has nothing to do with it and neither the balance.

Why do I still have a default from 2005 on a card I closed in 2009?
The card is still showing on my history with the red mark against it...

Im interested in this as im in a similar situation.

On your noddle report what is your date of default?

and what is the date you closed your account?

was there more than one default on your account?

Not sure if I'm being stupid but I cannot find any boxes to untick for marketing materials. In "my interests" there are some sliders that you can change to "never" but these don't look like they're going to have an impact on marketing mails. Having said that I only usually get 1 update mail a month from Noddle with general information about the credit markets.

I would put very little stock in the rating you get from Noddle, and probably other credit scorers. It's is useful for checking accounts and details are correct, but I have a default and a ccj from 5 years ago on record and I score 1 out of 5 as does my wife with similar credit history. My Wife has just taken out finance on an £11,000 car and I have a 0% balance transfer card from Barclaycard for £4,800 taken out a year ago, as well as a small loan and finance on some speakers (Only £1,700 for both)

I would never pay for a 'credit score' when it relates in no way towards credit worthiness and likelihood of acceptance.

I have to agree. The 5 point rating is nonsense but its a great tool to check accounts, addresees and financial connections etc

My main current account (and indeed the card I used to verify my identity /registered with) and my joint account with my ex - both of which are in regular use and and both have overdrafts, are not shown.
(On that note....does any one elses First Direct or Santander current accounts show?)

It does show my current and past credit cards - though as I changed credit cards when the offer rate ends, it took me a few times to get past the security questions such as "Which credit card company did you get an approval from in 2008?" Errrrm *shrugs*

Been in the same house since 2003

Finally managed to register today after first trying a couple of years ago and never getting past checking my credentials. It was not worth the wait.

Even though you have to give all details of at least a credit or debit card my credit report lists no bank cards whatsoever. All it lists is my current phone contract plus my previous phone contract and the details checks made when I looked for car insurance via a comparison website. That is it. Useless.
