Not sure if this is a freebie as you have to spend money? But voted hot
Not free
OP .. Don't forget, things like Quidco and Top Cash Back are not always guaranteed given?.

I've had situations where money that was due to me (from both of them) didn't 'realise' themselves ... :-(

But if you're able to cash all in, then so be it. :-)

Quidco and TCB should always be seen as the icing on the cake I reckon?, as opposed to being seen as the defacto reason for going head first into any Deal instead. :-)

£45 cashback is for "SIM Activation Bonus On New Handset Purchases" and you need to add £10 minimum to activate a new sim so assuming you get the cashback it'll be a net £25.00 in the end, still good value (even if they run out of free headphones and you don't intend on using the credit).
Thanks
Worth getting ? for £60 (Phone and headphone) Potentially £45 if cashback is accepted.
I know it's super cheap, but i wouldn't have a 1 Gb RAM phone if it were free, anyway it's an amazing pair of headphones for little money

Yeah seconds that. Minimum ram is 2gb nowadays. Not coming either way
Many thanks , used TCB and £15 for a £80 phone and £50 headphones.
Got mine.. phone is perfectly ok for the kids or a spare phone and the headphones are a real shocker.

You've got to spend over 100 quid to get sound this good , removable cable and it's a microphone cable.
Looks good

Hi you are effectively buying the phone outright then paying the £10 a month for a 30 day rolling contract that you can cancel at any point.
Anyone know how much you could sell the headphones for that come with the Giffgaff deal?

Is there a 30 day term for cancellation on giffgaff?
How long is it advisable to wait after the sim has been activated for the cash back to go through before cancelling?

It turns out you don't actually cancel anything. You just remove your payment details from your account and it will automatically deactivate after a period of inactivity
Got the Moto c, it's acceptable for a basic phone, let's hope giffgaff pay out...
So it easy to cancel which is good

(faster paying) £5.00 pending Estimated Payable 7 weeks

Apparently 30 days before its updated from £5, What are people doing? paying for a 2nd month might be safer.
Does anyone know if the goody bag is changed say after one and a half months, to a cheaper one, whether this would be likely to affect the claim?

Cashback is only for SIM activation afterall. It doesn't say that the sim needs to be for a minimum payout per month
I've also switched off the auto renew and removed my card details just incase.. hoping this works out well
My cashback only tracked at £5 and I duly submitted a claim. However I have recently received this message:

Hi there,

Your Missing CashBack Claim has been put 'On Ice', as the merchant in which you are claiming against imposes a validation period of 65 days.
We will need to keep your claim on our system until this time period has elapsed from the date in which you have completed your transaction, thereafter it will be automatically released after
06/05/2018 and sent over as part of the next claim batch.
If you notice that your expected cashback tracks in the meantime, can you kindly close this claim as soon as possible using the button labelled 'Close this claim'.

Kind regards,
The Missing CashBack Claims Team

A validation period of 65 days?!

Given that it's possible that some GiffGaff cashback deals could require future payments to qualify, 65 days is reasonable as a generic 'validation period' to cover a wide variety of offers. It's not as if they've refused yet.

So I assume the payment cannot be cancelled before the 65 days is up?

I'm not saying that, I'm just saying that they likely set 65 days validation as that gives sufficient time for all the deals they could offer. It's up to you on this particular deal on what it may require.
