On a rolling sim-only contract then you'd be paying £15 on most networks for this deal w/o a phone. This means at £5 more than this for 24 months you're essentially getting this new phone for £120, a good deal!

-Gorilla Glass (very tough, the iPhone 4 and Samsung Galaxy S have this as well I think)
800Mhz processor
-3.7" touchscreen.
-SWYPE® lets you swipe to type your messages in seconds.

The actual deal is 300 minutes, 300 texts and unlimited internet and a flexible booster but most people choose unlimited texts as their booster so I put that in the headline. Other choices would be to stick with the 300 texts and choose free landline calls, cheaper international calls etc etc

This is the same deal as the HTC Wildfire and yet the Defy is worth much more money and is much newer. Good comparison here: compare-cellphones.org/Mot…ire

Supposedly the Android OS will be updated to Froyo 2.2 in Q2 of 2011 although apparently Motorola have broken promises on this kind of thing before.

I personally have never been on T-Mobile, only on O2 and am thinking of taking this deal however I have heard that some people have had problems with its earpiece. funlimited.co.uk/201…ht/
T-Mobile offer a 2 year warranty but all the same, I am not sure whether to purchase this myself just because constant repair might be annoying. Idk whether Motorola have discovered the fault and can permanently fix phones or whether it is better to wait in case only brand new models can be permanently okay.

All the same, this has good specs for the price, better than the Orange San Francisco I think? now that only has a TFT screen, and aside from its achilles ear, it is very rugged, waterproof, etc. I have tried it inshore and this did not make it super bulky. I'm a girl and quite small so if I think this then most people would probably not feel it was super big or masculine because of its ruggedness.

I guess it is a bit ridiculous to submit this offer without getting it myself yet, and I do think this is a really good deal I just am worried about the earpiece thing and don't know whether to wait for more info. Also don't know about T-Mobile's signal, 3G etc whether it is good in my area (Brighton) so shall research this. I hope this doesn't go up in price or down in quality like the OrangeSF did when I didn't buy that right away. I have never had an android/3G phone before so hopefully I didn't get anything wrong.

This is my first submission here btw. =]

Okay thanks, but all the searches I did came up with deals with lesser minutes and no data if you're on a long contract you're gonna want that, and I barely even require any minutes, its not all about getting the phone cheaply...

I can't seem to find a better deal atm for this price range. I know some people get better deals through retentions but for someone who isn't on contract could you suggest a better deal for someone who is only gonna spend under £150 on a smartphone? I just keep seeing stuff about HTC Wildfire and Orange San Francisco which this seems to be better than. For example hotukdeals.com/dea…210 got a positive rating a few days ago for pointing out the phone was on amazing for £247, yet this deal means you essentially get the phone for £120.

Any good deals on it seems to have expired? Also, personally would be wary of online companies I don't know (easier just to deal with a T-mobile store) but this might be me being needlessly cautious.
