To tempt you into spending even more money on Dolce gusto pods, at ridiculous prices (not to mention the ecological impact). Sorry, this is not a deal

I don’t get how you don’t think it’s a deal... At the end of the day people are still willing to buy the machine for around £30 whether u agree or not with the prices of pods.
If your getting something worth £30 for free (after the minimum spend) then how is it not a deal? better than a kick in the teeth

I get that it's a free item, but it's similar to the printing industry. Next to nothing hardware, then sting you with the cost of ink.

IMO this is a ploy so you spend to get the free item to only then drag you into buying more stuff.

Each to their own though.

I understand your saying the after costs of “running” will be more than the original product itself but that can be said for a lot of products.
The cost of a cup of coffee from a coffee shop could cost around £2.50 a cup, from a pod machine like this around 50p a cup and instant coffee around 20-15p (maybe?) a cup. Like you said each to their own people have different lifestyles and ways of spending their money.
I still see this as a good deal as you can get the coffee machine for free (where others may have bought one)
