Perfect timing Amibees

Ordered 2 books at the weekend with free normal delivery

Good stuff, will be ordering from there today. Cheers, heated.

+1

Remember to change delivery at the checkout to Next Day as by default it chooses Standard which for me was £3.50.

Would love to say this is Hot but no free delivery to "highlands and islands" - an extra £7 to get stuff. It's a shame as they have great offers

After the last posting for The Book People I visited the site and bought 7 books for £17 .00 for my granddaughters with free P&P and wondered what the cost would have been elseware so I checked W H Smith's site to find out that it would have cost me £40 and one one book alone was a massive saving of £7. Savings can be made on all books, well worth a visit.:santa::gift:

You surely have to expect that living where you do. By the time they ship it all the way up there they'd presumably make a loss on the books.

ordered thank you !

Use code IS001 for an extra 10% off .... just worked for me! :-D

Great - Just used the 10% code as well - Cheers for that

I live in Aberdeenshire - hardly Siberia! Charged for Highlands and Islands rates which is not normal as Aberdeenshire is not in the highlands and isnt an island. Most couriers and Royal Mail charge same rates here as for rest of UK. Grrrrrr :santa:

Same with Northern Ireland. Same price as the rest of the UK, but they still charge an extra £7 odd quid. If not for that, then I would buy loads from the book people.

Thanks so much for the heads up. Wanted Martina Coles new book but prices on high street were ridiculous, got from Book People for £7 with free delivery!
Thanks again!

Thanks to the OP

Brilliant! As well as the 10% discount, don't forget 6% Quidco. Am getting the Roald Dahl books at less than a pound each. Thanks!

IS001 code didn't work for me.

Good find. Will order a few books this evening.

Thanks amibees, just saved my sister £3.00 using code IS001.

Next day means they're using Home and not Hermes for delivery, heated!

Cheers!

Taken from The Book People website :-

Next Day Delivery orders must be placed before MIDDAY.

Their website is actually factually misleading - there is a HUGE banner stating FREE NEXT DAY DELIVERY with no footnote or asterisk stating that this offer does not extend to UK residents living in Scotland or Northern Ireland.

Surely this is a Trade Descriptions issue? Any advice on how I could report this as I do find it very irritating?

Soth 8-)

Very misleading I agree. I waited in all day yesterday and nothing came. I did order after midday but I didn't know about the small print.

Ordered yesterday morning (around 10 AM). Got delivered about 20 mins ago.

I ordered Tuesday night so was expecting dispatch Wednesday for delivery today. My confirmation email states next working day delivery.

Nothing came today though. Anyone know who these people use for delivery? It was to my work address so no question of someone not being in and I checked before leaving that it wasn't there.
