Good post, thanks for highlighting the abuse of this service though as although the NHS donate products are for marketing use, they still have to pay for them in the first place. I would hate to think of anybody trying to sell these on eBay...
Complete waste of NHS cash. Opening the system up for anyone to order is complete madness. Please don't order anything unless you are genuinely fundraising for them.

Time the Commons stop pfaffing about over this issue and just hurry up and make the whole thing compulsory with a no judgement opt out scheme. Job done. The thought that people have to be reminded or can be persuaded to sign up with bits of pink tat is ludicrous. Just sign up people and help someone have a life when you're finished living yours! Easy.

This should be removed before it gets abused. If someone is fund raising they can search for this online themselves.
There’s going to be so many people ordering this when there is no need

What if you am a taxpayer ?

Good argument. Why not help yourself to a dialysis machine while you’re there.

Your Welcome, Thankyou for Sharing
Not working for me. I'd like the T-shirt as it will remind people about donating when they see me wearing it. I do carry a diner card, though at my age I'm not sure anything would be useable. 🔥

This is a link for a medium shirt; nhsbtleaflets.co.uk/Vie…497
Awesome, thanks
Great post, shame they don’t do a similar t-shirt for blood giving. My husband loves giving blood every few months - I think it has something to do with the free unlimited crisps and biscuits at the end he never wants any tea when he gets home.

He has also just joined the the bone marrow donation register as well, they need more men to register if anyone else is interested.
This is going to get abused by someone. They are going to buy the whole store and put it on ebay

Totally agree with this !
I’ve already had one transplant and the waiting list for my second one is so long !
Unfortunately people do need reminding to sign up, most people ‘don’t get round to doing it’. it definitely should be an ‘opt out’ not in.

Free? Surely with a donation?
This link is for Companies, Clinics, Organisations and fundraisers. Not for the general public. Please take this post down.. Wide open to abuse...
I think it's a great idea but as many people have said, could be open to abuse. There should be an option to donate an amount at the end in my opinion.

Not sure if this is a deal or not, more something for people who are running fundraisers etc

Great for those who like to signal their virtue but don’t want to spend their own money on it.

Get your own T-shirt printed if you want to tell people about it that way. Why expect one paid for by the taxpayer?

Are you serious about making the giving of blood compulsory. We aren't living in a dictatorship! I've had a blood transfusion before but would never expect others to do so unless voluntarily.
i know this post was not meant for asking people to sign up, but i like teh awareness its given and i myself have just signed up to donate my organs

No, of course not. The thread relates to organ donation, not blood.

The contact email for the company who run this stupid decision to make the merchandise freely available to all is nhsbtcst@theapsgroup.com so drop them a line to make them aware of their bad idea, that will be abused. I have already, the more emails they get the more likely they are to do something about it.

This is most definitely not a "deal" nor should it be advertised as a "freebie".

Good luck to you, mate. I hope you don't have to wait too much longer x

I fully agree with the 'opt out' thing. I also find it ludicrous, that despite it being your wishes, your next of kin can just come along and say no. Surely it would be less stressful for all concerned if they weren't given that choice in the first place?
I have ordered a t=shirt that I will wear with pride and some stickers to put on my ebay parcels to give people something to think about as they pass through the system. If it makes even one person think about putting their name down, it's got to be worth it, right?
I'm confused by all the outrage in these comments.
Are products not also for raising awareness about organ donation - which I assume arises from a person wearing the shirt? You seem to all be obsessed with raising money for publicity rather than direct publicity? Is the end goal not simply encouraging organ donation sign up not the fundraising in and of itself.
Some of you are writting angry letters to the comapny though, so what did I miss....

Doh! Should have read the description properly.
Are the people on saying that they have never had a free pen, mug, t-shirt etc off any charity stall.
I can only see leaflets on there x
