not really a deal, its a phone upgrade

Pro: Nice metal casing and slim
Con: It's on 3

Pro: The keyboard is really usable
Con: It's on 3

Pro: free Ovi maps
Con: It's on 3.

The cons way out weigh the pros here.

All joking aside, I don't know anyone personally who stayed on with three after the contract expired. Good minutes/text/net for the money but poor signal (round my way) & awful cutomer services.

3 mobile are absolutely fine, never had a problem with them, this just isn't a deal as its not available to everyone.

That said, good phone for great price and you may not have any issues...

Good phone and good deal. If you get a decent 3 signal, worth it IMO. Had a run-in with 3 customer support a few times and they have been fine. People knock it quite a bit but if you a decent signal (as here in the land of hills, we are high up :p), they are fine.
Phone itself easily fetches about 150 quid too - BB5 so unlock and debrand and you are laughing.

my son has a 3 phone and trying to get hold of him is ridculous cos of the signal(well thats the excuse he gives us!)

Not sure how many 3 users Monkry nuts 2 knows, I've been with them for over 3 years.

Though I must say I think their recent success has tightened their fist; the best that Gurpreet was willing to offer me as a retention deal was a C 903 @ 500 mins on a £10 18 month contract.

Im with 3 and no problems. Thanks for the info as Im looking to upgrade, heat given.

None now as they all cancelled their contracts. :-D

I have known 6 people in my family, 4 friends and 4 work mates that have been with Three and left them, mostly due to their customer services or removing discounts/bolt ons. Thats's in the last 2 - 3 years.
Like I said good for some but might be worth asking ]around or a google search for customer feedback on the network.

3 are great -- called them up today and had a nice chat with the dude about my favourite food (pizza) and my uni! He helped me get my bill paid too lol.

People complain a lot about 3 based on how it was when it started, which agreeably was shoddy. But now they are a great network.

Nooo. The E71 is a much better phone. Got one for sale if you fancy it!

thanks i have also been happy with 3 for a few years i have better connectivity than my husband and son do with their suppliers O2 and vodaphone - i am and looking for upgrade at the mo has anyone been offered any good internet inclusive deals too?

I have little trouble with 3 until it comes to trying to cancel a contract lol .

I'm currently on a monthly sim only deal using my Nokia E71 after my last contract ended im paying £15 for the above plus internet so will try for this deal as selling the phone will cover the cost of the rental.

If you are with 3 then its a good deal.
If not then it's of no use to man nor beast.

Certainly no good to a beast, the buttons on an E71 are far too small for hooves.

theres alot of us on here whose contract is up soon, as we tanned the deal 18 months ago(when we removed the internet) and got the deal/phone for a tenner, decisions decisions eh.

Iv'e been with 3 for 5 years never had any problems its as good as any of the others. And i get 300 minutes any network 150 text and all sorts of downloads stuff i'll never use.For £5 a month for life same deal for the wife.Great network.show me the same deal on any of the others.

Good deal if you can get it.

Was on 3 great service, until you get a problem then your in big trouble ended up paying off my contract with over 12 months left to get away from them:x

I've had this phone with 3 for a year now on a £20 a month Internet texter plan and have to say the combination as been great. There is issues at times with coverage, but then there is with most providers. I tend to use it most for satnav with ovi maps and that has alway worked well. Camera isn't great, keyboard works well, Internet is fine, but of course not as easy to navigate as a large touchscreen, but is still more than useable. All in all very happy with both phone and provider.

Maybe you should move to a better area :whistling:. Been with 3 going 6 years and their customer services are no better or worse than the other networks.

Hi

Any more details on this offer - nothing on their site. Was it a call, flyer?

Ta

Hi,

Called Threee to take advantage of this offer (as I am existing customer) and they knew nothing about it. Best they could offer was £12 for 250 mins, 50 texts, and free email/internet on 18mth contract with Nokia E71.

Anyone know how I can get more details/info on the posted deal?

Ta

I've also been with 3 for over 4 years and can't complain. They still have the best value deals.

As for the E71, here are some apps you'll want to install (should be easy to find them online or through the Ovi Store):
Ovi Store App (I'm pretty sure going to store.ovi.com in your mobile browser will show you the link to install)
Skype App from 3 website
MSN Live Messenger from 3 website
Google Maps
YouTube
Google Mail
Mobbler
Mobispine
Snaptu
Nimbuzz
Skyfire
Spotify (If you have a Premium Account)

It's definitely the best phone I've ever had so far :).

I had the same, the best they offered me was 200 mins, unlimited texts plus 1gb internet for £18 on an 18 month contract.
I noticed in town today that this is their latest offer to everyone , so much for loyalty ! I might as well refer myself and go through Quidco for a new contract.

Was the offer in-store for the Nokia e71 or e63?
They look similar.
One comparison I found here gadgetwidgets.com/nok…ce/

Main diff is e71 has GPS, is thinner and has metal body.

Would also love to know how OP got this.

I mention this because the Nokia e63 for £10/mth is on the 3 web-site.

I got no probs with 3 been fine for me? yes they had bad rep in the early days but cant fault em now to be honest. I suppose bad rep sticks bit like Skoda's

The one in store is definitely for the E71 ( I know ive got one) but as i said its £18 a month.

The E71 is the best phone I've ever had, partly because I use my phone like a PDA. Good calendar, todo tasks, notes, email and QuickOffice, plus free GPS and great syncing options.

When you add to that its slim form, high quality build, sunlight-readable display and excellent battery life it's getting pretty irresistible for me. The camera is average, but at least has a LED flash, autofocus and zoom and is as good as I need a handy snapper to be.

But the crowning glory for me is the keyboard and its predictive text. I couldn't go back to a numeric keypad + T9 now and I'm a little dubious about onscreen keyboards. This phone will be a hard act to follow - the E72 is the obvious answer but I've heard mixed reports.

And Three have been fine for me. Reception is great in the North West - even in parts of the Lake District where you can't get other networks (though that is using Orange's 2G). I have friends in Poole where the reception used to be rubbish but it's become fine in recent months. Please be wary of outdated prejudices.
