They have JavaScript course too. And if you know a bit already, start at the bottom and get the qualifications. It's free

Not knocking it at all because its free and a great way for people to learn. I've added heat, but is the diploma recognised and worth anything?
This sounds good always wanted to give it a go. Also, how does it work if you only have one iOS device you use daily? Is it advisable to have another purely for Dev testing?

It's better than not having a diploma in developing. It can be a stepping stone to better qualifications. Or do this course then the next one up from this

Ideally you want iPhone, iPad and iWatch if you want to develop for all 3. But it's not essential. dev software will emulators in them

Ditto that. :-)
Looks like objective-c not Swift, so this might not be completely up-to-date. The diploma clearly means nothing, but learning the basics are obviously going to help if you're interested in a career in mobile app development.

Videos are poor quality, and you will need a device running OSX as you can't develop for any Apple devices on a Windows machine.

Not entirely true. You can add a virtual machine with Mac OS.

Also you can develop iOS apps in dreamweaver and any other HTML editor using CCS3/JavaScript/HTML5

But virtual machine with Mac OS is the best way as you can still use Xcode with official SDK's
Thanks, I might give this a look.

Don't do it then. It's probably out of your price range anyway

I wouldn't have put it that way but he is probably right. Does it tell you how to become registered with Apple as a developer ? If not how do you develop and test anything ? i.e how do you load and run your wonderfully written code onto your iphone ? no ? ok,... what will it cost you so you can ?

it's probably rather like those sinclair machines years ago that didn't have enough memory to load all the clockface for your first test program

it's called a loss leader. costs you nothing because to do anything what comes next will cost you. ok, you get a certificate. is it recognised ? yes, they recognise that they gave you one.

Firstly thanx for the writing a bit more than its just cack.

This is the basics of coding. Just like the basics of website doesn't show you how to host the site. This won't be for everyone but it's a start.

You won't wanna pay for a course then find out you can even get the basic right.

If you do this and love it and find it easy. Nothing stopping you from doing the next one (which is also free)

I've got into ios developing over the course of the last few months & I tried out a load of the free courses, but as above, the majority of them are terrible, out of date or offer no support.

I then found the course on this site (first 15 lessons are free) - codewithchris.com/

Very helpful guy, all the courses are updated regularly (Swift, Swift 2.0 etc) & the lessons are easy to follow, with all files etc included.

Does one exist for Windows?

Could I become a non-serious developer owning an iPhone, iPad and Windows laptop??

That is very interesting read, I never realised app develpment paid that well, I need to increase my knowledge and go freelance, me thinks.
