FREE outfit cleaning for your interview (if unemployed) at Timpson

Sweetest offer I've seen in a while. Apparently this is national. Note it says "outfit" not just "suit" so it wouldn't be limited to suits. Could have your dress cleaned up if you're a woman. Or indeed a man who likes to wear dresses.

This is a great family run business, they used to be clients of mine a few years ago, and were a pleasure to deal with.
Its nationwide...

Thank you.
absolutely fantastic offer. been to the bottom myself and often missed out because I couldn't 'get smart'.
fortunately don't need it now but personal thanks for posting and mega thanks to timpsons.
What a nice gesture. I have a friend who worked for this company after leaving the military..he says they are the best people he's ever worked for...very encouraging, and they paid for him to do qualifications that led to his current job, even though this took him away from them
Would they clean an unemployed person suit for going to court?
Nice to see this - I run a local business and we photocopy cvs for the unemployed free of charge.

There but for the Grace of God go I...
what do you need to prove

Oh, I don't know. I'm guessing your documentation that you'd get when you sign on.
Are graduating students allowed to make use of this?

With a comment like this, you sound like a very unpleasant person

I agree most unpleasant individual, they would no more clean an employed persons suit for that reason free of charge as an unemployed persons, black, white, disabled non disabled GET THE IDEA!!!

If you don't have a clean outfit and would struggle to afford to dry clean it then I guess so. It depends exactly what they want as proof e.g. DWP documentation or confirmation of interview.
Nice one Timpson. Next time i need a shoe product i'll make a point of going to one of their branches to get it - good initiatives like this should be rewarded.

great service...well done Timpson's..
Cold votes for something free coming in. Oh-so-coincidentally it's chucking out time down the pub.

what a nasty insulting and unnecessary comment. Who the hell are you to judge someone you don't know and attempt to mock them for praising a deal. Clearly wasn't funny

There's a hint of mild annoyance in your response for some reason, but it's a fair question (and obvious question) to avoid a wasted journey. Does anyone know? Is it signing on documents or an interview letter...?

Wowee! It's rare to see something like this nowadays. Fortunate to not need it myself but what a nice gesture. Thanks for letting us all know OP.
Very kind of Timpson. Hope someone's luck changes.
Frankly I am appalled by the comments by a couple of individuals in this thread.
They also look to recruit 10% of their staff from ex offenders and support post adoption charities - they are a real grass roots company and we always try to use them where we can.

Good on Timpsons. This should go read hot. Heat from me and I will be sharing.

Or someone trying to be funny as I took it as a joke. Mind you I am un-pc and find pc people a bit sad.

On the deal it's good. Also, if it's still going there was an allowance you could get from the benefits office that paid for a new suit, shirt, tie and trousers if you needed them and had an interview coming up. I got mine from Burtons.

Or factually accurate? If you can't buy a 10 quid shirt and tie from Tesco then why would I employ that person. We are in a state of affairs where people will blame anything on not getting a job.

Good for a free service for the unemployed but what type of condition would you have allowed "interview" clothes to get into?

I think some people are utterly obsessed with me always being annoyed...? I type exactly how I talk - it was actually mild perplexity. Yes it was a fair question and I answered it to the best of my knowledge. I didn't go in there I just took a pic of the sign, and came home and posted it as I thought and hoped that it would be helpful for those struggling. I certainly know how damn depressing it can be being unemployed and this seems to have cheered some people up on here which is a nice thing.

? ah, took a little digging but worked it out he's "friends" with cameron. Its a round about way of helping people off welfare. So you can look spiffy when you go for your low paid agency job in care. Yep check the government jobsite, about 80% of the jobs on there are through agencies now. Frightening. There is always a reason for freebies some are just less obvious than others.

I would suggest you do a bit more digging if you think agency care workers are low paid - they're invariably paid more than full-time staff care workers!

Yes I don't understand why YOU need someone to clean your clothes for you to make YOU Please explain. Perhaps it's your lack of deep understanding as to why this nanny state is on its knees as people have become truly incapable of even the basics.

Generous offer by Timpsons and I am sure the free marketing and publicity wasn't even given a thought.

If you can't arrive clean and presentable for an interview you stand no chance and rightly so. If you have a specific suit for interviews I assume your not rolling round in it playing football on a weekend.

What next someone to brush your teeth or answer the interview questions for you.

You do know there are actually stages between being vacuum sealed in a walk-in wardrobe and rolling around playing football......right...?

Have you any good tips for those that are struggling to afford to have suits dry cleaned that cannot be washed. I am sure your tips would be gratefully received by those not fortunate enough to think with your brain and from your own viewpoint that you deem is the only thing that matters.

So, any free tips on dry cleaning clothes.

If you could realise everyone is in different circumstance some people could make good use of this. Ovcorse its advertising though its still a good service. And the 'nanny state' is because of the many things, I done blame the people. Its media, toxic food emf radiation amongst other things its not our fault we are born into a corrupt world. Compassion for other people, you could try contribute or be closed minded. Ignorance is bliss I suppose.
