Just been in Wilko where they have 2.5L Tins of Dulux Emulsion Paints for £13 instead of £16, a great deal in itself as Wilkos own Emulsion Paints are £12.47, Dulux only being fractionally more expensive with a greater colour range.

However, what is great (although a little odd) is that currently they are giving away free a Paint Pod Compact.

The Wilko I went into did not even stock the Paint Pod paints themselves, just the regular tins of Dulux Paint but they are free with those.

Not obviously got a use for it with the standard tins, however I have read that if you slightly water down paints, once you have an empty PaintPod container you can use whatever paint you wish.

I am aware that these get mixed reviews, but for 53 pence more than Wilkos Paint alone, getting one of these free which also includes 6 Duracell AA Batteries is a bargain in itself.

No doubt this thread will turn into a war of DIY Mutterings about the pros and cons of regular rollering against using PaintPods, but I will leave you all to peruse the deal anyway, even if you don't like PaintPod Compacts you can sell it or even have 6 AA batteries for 53 pence more than standard Wilko 2.5L Emulsion Paints, and more choice of paint colours.

It's a win-win as far as I am concerned regardless of PaintPod viewpoint!

Dulux Matt Emulsion Ivory 2.5 L - £13 (Plenty of other colours to choose both in Silk or Matt Emulsion for the same price)

PaintPod Compact - £38

Add both to basket, and pay just £13.

Instore, was not clearly advertised, the Wilko I went into had a cage with the PaintPod boxes stacked up with the free advertising on, however the Paints on the shelf did not have any shelf edge labels advertising the deal. However they obviously do go through at checkout for just £13 for both items.

Have not got a clue, not used it, only just bought the paint, and obviously with the paint being in a tin I don't have an empty PaintPod container to put the paint into! And as I don't currently need more than the 2.5L tin was not going to pay the £30 for a 5L container of the PaintPod paint. Certainly read enough mixed reviews on it, from those that love it, to those that think it is utterly pointless.

What I intend doing is buying a 5L of the Dulux White PaintPod paint which is cheaper (£20) and using that for ceilings, then rinsing that out when empty for use with whatever paint I like (providing I actually like using the PaintPod that is)

you dont to spend £13...i bought £7 worrth range like dulux white paint cheapest available and still got the paintpod. ...yet hesitant to use after mixed reviews.

just ordered the gloss for £8.47 and 5lt magic white emulsion for £19 97 and got 2 paint pods free (so one for my daughter lol)

Thanks for that, never noticed that, will expire this thread, this was a good heads up for those (like myself) that overlooked that post...cheers

This has been in mine for bloody ages, so it's not nothing new .

I used the paintpod for several rooms and generally it works well, the paint is good, gives even coverage and its quicker than normal painting. BUT, the machine is very temperamental, I ended up returning it as faulty after using.
So, if you need to paint I'd buy it and bin it after use, all the cleaning out extra is a pain and it will probably break. I saw loads of the big units going back to B&Q, I thought they would have given up on them by now.

hmmm interesting thanks OP might check my local store

might be why these are free!!

Just ordered one online, so not expired.

Using this is still gonna be a hassle and take a long time. especially for ceiling etc. you can get a PAINT SPRAYING SYSTEM which does the job a lot quicker and easier. heres a video: youtube.com/wat…ted

these can be picked up pretty cheap on ebay etc
