Watch Friday's eclipse safely with these viewing glasses - pretty much out of stock everywhere, except at hugely inflated prices!

Just in case people haven't noticed the glasses have to be picked up from Morrisons.

Haha, couldn't care less, I'm about as far from Scotland as you can get without crossing the channel! Just spotted it when looking to buy some glasses, and thought I'd share
Hmmmmm... I wonder if it's worth travelling all the way up to Scotland to buy a paper. Road trip anyone? X)

Ah ok. I googled it - the mirror were advising people to order their glasses, or pick them up with BBC Sky at Night magazine, so I'm not too sure now...

A pair of (cardboard) eclipse glasses on eBay currently have a bid of £33 with £3.20 p&p, seriously who bids on this stuff crazy world we live in.
It's great this is being advertised but I don't think the weather is going to be clear on Friday so getting a pair of these will be pointless

Yes, Dundee - sunniest part of the UK, the place you call England.
Guys, do not use the welder lenses ! they will still damage your eyes. Your better off saving your pennies and looking at it directly if you dont care about your eyes.

You need proper glasses. As in those related to this deal.

EDIT. Grade 14 welding lenses is the minimum you should use according to nasa.

Do your research - welding lenses are graded. 13/14 are considered safe.
Free glasses Wednesday, Thursday and Friday with the Herald in Plymouth (Devon, England, UK), which should be one of the best places to see the eclipse.
im hoping Ludwig reappears in this thread. I doubt it though

So any available national yet? Aside from The Sky at Night magazine?

Don't know about them being sold out anywhere. I've never seen them for sale yet!
Its nice when someone steps in and Educates someone who thinks they are being funny.

I've probably read the same sites he has. 13 isn't considered safe, 14 is considered more or less safe which to me isn't safe
e.g.

"Do not use sunglasses, or welder’s goggles"

And I looked in a few places for the sky at night mag. Sold out in the 3 near me
Isn't every day a solar eclipse in Scotland with the complete lack of sun lol
