It can be used to park for free in the following Chesterfield Borough Council off-street pay and display car parks:

  • Albion Road
  • Derbyshire Times
  • Devonshire Street
  • Durrant Road
  • Hollis Lane (excluding on-street bays)
  • Holywell Cross (The Donut)
  • Queens Park (North and South)
  • Spa Lane
  • Station Road
  • St Mary’s Gate
  • Theatre Lane
Time restrictions
Residents of the borough can park free of charge before 10am and after 3pm Monday to Saturday and all day on a Sunday and bank holidays.

Thanks, never knew about this. Will check my council tax envelope now, rather than the "oh bugger" look I gave it last week!
Before 10am and after 3pm thats usefull.
Surprising, really. That's a lot of desperately needed income foregone, when councils are crying out for cash because of government cuts since the Conservatives got in.

I wonder how they're going to make up the shortfall.
LOL - are you kidding me? That is one half a$$ed parking permit.!! We have a similar thing in our town but it has at least a couple of anti-counterfeiting / Security measures on it (holographed foil and numbering to make it a little less easy to copy etc.)

Surely this can't be that easy? - Would be amazed if this works personally. - My council is DDDC and Chesterfield is my local market town.
