JustPark app is allowing NHS staff and patients to park near hospitals for free during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Information:
(As of 24th March) - "2,000 spaces have been listed for free and 250 workers have benefited from the car spaces in the past 48 hours at 150 different hospitals."

"JustPark is the UK's most popular parking app and enables unused parking spaces to be listed for others to reserve and pay for in advance. But in light of the ongoing corona-virus pandemic it is allowing free parking for healthcare workers and patients.

JustPark says it will not levy any fees for either the space holders or the drivers and is offering this to connect key workers and patients with available spaces."

The NHS employees should have free parking anyway regardless of covid 19.
100% agree. Had to pay monthly for parking at my previous trust. My car along with several others was also damaged on site but nothing was done. Had to foot the repair bill myself. Luckily the my new trust has free parking but I know majorly don’t. But honestly, it’s horrendous having to pay for parking when you work there. And the hourly fees for patients are even worse to be honest.

While I have some reservations with regards some of the freebies the NHS workers have, I think this is one of the freebies they deserve. And the patients too. I also think this should be the norm, not just a limited time deal. Hot from me!

That’s really good the NHS are our true heroes right now. Someone on our family is a nurse on the children ward and she is off with the virus. We just need the government to test the NHS staff for the virus. Sending all my love to anyone from The NHS and carers and everyone’s on the front line. You guys are amazing xxx

I still wouldn't trust them especially if parking eye are involved.
I'm on this page, received the email too, and I live about a mile away from a hospital.

Problem is...my car is on my driveway because I have to work at home.

I hope during this period, a pay balance is found where footballers earn £500 a week, and NHS, Police and Fire workers earn £100k a week.

The joys of privatisation my friend.
NHS trusts rent the land and almost everything in the building (including the building)
And you can nip into the on site Costa and pick your nan up a 4 quid coffee for the exact same reason as the extortionate and immoral parking fees.
Just park aren't offering anything. It's people offering their drives ways for free on the just park app. I like how they're taking the credit for it
This should of been free anyway regardless of the situation

Same. It's a strange premise where a lot of private companies offer free parking for staff, and yet I have to pay for parking working at the NHS hospital. Frustratingly, my car had its catalytic converter stolen too whilst I was there to work a 12 hour shift, and the trust didn't care. I had to foot the repair bill myself. I've heard of other staff having their car windows smashed in or keyed.. and they've didn't receive any support either (they won't show you or tell you who did it due to data protection). I just feel that there's more that could be done to support staff.
Should be free parking for all since no one goes to physical work locations anymore.

Impossible, since JustPark do not own the spaces, they are listed by private individuals.

And also, plenty of people still physically go to work, if they are not able to carry out their duties at home.

Time to have a dashcam with parking mode fitted so you have your own footage.

Already had a dashcam front and rear connected to the car fuse.. but parking mode is a bit iffy due to the small 12v battery as its a hybrid. Need to start connecting it to a powerbank.

In any case, my car was parked in front of the cctv and the police reviewed the footage, got the plate off the car (probably stolen or cloned) but can't see the faces of the perpetrators. And that was that. Had to pay £500 excess, 2 weeks without a car (courtesy car was subject to availability), and this whole thing might happen again because I work there - so I can't avoid parking there.
It would never happen in England!
Dr's and consultants on the picket line.Benidorms NHS hospital decided to charge for parking and gave the parking concession to a private company.
Medical professionals argument was that it has been proven that patients who have visitors recover more quickly.
The matter was resolved by another carpark being built, turn left no charge turn right and you are charged to park
